Hey guys. I don't know if there's already a way to fix this, but it's becoming really annoying when half of my screen is filled like this. IM: Second Life: *name here* has left this session IM: Second Life: *name here* has left this session IM: Second Life: *name here* has left this session IM: Second Life: *name here* has left this session IM: Second Life: *name here* has left this session IM: Second Life: *name here* has left this session IM: Second Life: *name here* has left this session IM: Second Life: *name here* has left this session IM: Second Life: *name here* has left this session IM: Second Life: *name here* has left this session IM: Second Life: *name here* has left this session IM: Second Life: *name here* has left this session ... The only way I know how to avoid it is to quit all the groups I'm in, but I don't want to do that... So for now, or the future, is there a way to make it so they don't notify you of people leaving the group chats? Thanks in advance ^.^ I'm off to bed now.

As far as I know, no, there isn't and probably won't be. And boyyyyyy is it annoying. I loathe it. I don't really care that someone has left the session in a group IM.

I thought I had died an gone to hell when this started happening to me today. All it takes is one person to say something, important or not, to start this cascade of messages. It's really bad if it's a huge group and add this to the fact that there is a huge lag between typing in a group IM message and actually seeing it. It's really bad this time.

Indeed, and the Caledon group channel is actually a really fun thing for many, and is chatted on all the time... and now broken for 450+ users. Easy 300 of em active people too... I eagerly await the fix.

It is much worse than it used to be. People are leaving large groups because of the end session spam attack. Group Owners should be able to turn this feature off. I hope we do not have to vote on this for the next 6 months.

I hope we do not have to vote on this for the next 6 months. I think the expected behavior is that only people who contributed to the chat session will generate the message. In other words: if you don't type, people don't see you leave.

It's the new game, see how fast you can close the group IM window when you see that first message?

>> We are working and working and working more on this issue! I promise. QA anyone? This is an embarassing one to let slip by. It actually increases load on the servers, having to process all of the presence requests (100 people in a group being aware of 100 people in the group, decreasing as people slam the window shut). I also wonder if there is a privacy angle.. are people being shown as leaving who don't want to be shown in the group list? What the heck is Cory doing there? I look at the releases and wonder if there is any adult supervision of the tech staff. (this, the sun, the " hippos)", and so on .. it is starting to feel like the releases are a grab bag of whatever feels "groovy" to slip into the code base on a given day). Drop the frikken Utopia/Cult thing Lindens, and get managers that are not afraid to, uh, manage. (on the other hand, I bow to Q - sculpted prims are gonna rock!

From: Heretic Linden We are working and working and working more on this issue! I promise. Thank you for posting that, Heretic. The group PM thing is a real problem for me, I've just discovered the world of lucky chair groups and over the past few days I've been able to give my little business a huge shot in the arm. Since the update I've lost my newly found edge, so this is hitting me perhaps a little harder than others. I know you guys get alot of flack, but the fact that you've posted here really does mean alot to me. Just hearing that you know there's a problem and that you're working on it really has gone a long way towards making me feel better about things Once again, thank you. Happy Vale

From: Heretic Linden We are working and working and working more on this issue! I promise. What's the solution going to be? Is it going to include the option to ignore those kind of messages all together? Because i would be very happy if i didnt see them at all. Not even at the amount that it was before.
