Hi,
I live in a Skpod (don't know if that is relevant), and I have noticed that as I tp around sl there is no problem, until I return'home' to my Skypod. I always return with bent legs. Stop All Animations doesn't fix it, but simply sitting down, then standing up again does. But what is causing this?? Love to know.
Regards to all Rock

Regards to all Rock old age I get this from time to time, but it usually seems to occur when there is a lot of packet loss or server lag. One time it took me several attempts at sitting/standing/jumping to shake it. ...I blame it on bad knees from many years of playing hockey.

Bent legs? Whenever that happens to me I sit on something, any old prim will do, and then stand up. Fixes it for me every time.

I have a theory that high-altitude teleports sometimes cause slight rounding-errors... meaning your avatar can end up "colliding" with the floor of your skybox, rather than "resting" upon it. (The higher your box, the worse the physics engine seems to cope).
Try lowering the floor of your skybox a touch, and see if it still happens....

(The higher your box, the worse the physics engine seems to cope). Yes, I have noticed that too. When I teleport (using a landmark) from ground level to a sky plattform at ~700m altitude, my av ends up with its feet sticking through the floor. If upon arrival, I teleport again using the same landmark, the av ends up at the correct height relative to the plattform.

I have been seeing this alot more lately, in avatars on the ground. It does seem to be related to teleporting, I will have to test he altitude theory to see if that trigger sit, but I have seen it alot on avatars at ground level. It is good to know the sit trick, thanks.

I have noticed also that my legs bend when I sit down. They are bent the whole time I'm sitting there. When I stand up, though, it goes away.
You'll work through it. It's kind of shocking at first, but as you ease into it, you'll find your anxiety about these issues will pass.
mine did.

Is this what you`re talking about?

I have noticed that my Fireflies [and Butterflies] --who are physical robotic vehicles-- tend to make people`s legs bend off to one side [usually avatar left] whenever they bump up against the people. [See Random Ramblings of Lauren Mandelbrot for more information about My Gardens.] Is this the kind of "bent legs" people [not including Vengence Opus] are talking about? In my case, the bent legs tend to straighten out on their own when the critter flies away.

I asked support about the bent legs problem last year and they said the problem is caused by having too tall a avatar height. I tried lowering my height and it did help some but I still get the bent legs once in a while.

Actually I got a series of injections for my avatars knees a month or two ago and that seemed to have helped. The seller was a helpful and very attractive 20-something avatar doctor who had avertised about the problem in SLExchange. She gave me the injections and said I wouldn't need another series for oh say 4-6 months. I haven't had a porblem since, however the doctor and I have cybered a couple of times since then as well. She said she would send out a helpful reminder when my next series was due. They only cost me like 10,000L - very reasonable!
(tongue in cheek of course!)

I've noticed the condition mostly in short avs. Last night, someone told me I had bent legs, but from my point of view, my av looked normal. BTW, without heels, my av is 4'-8" tall.
