I don't know where this fits. I tried to give my DJ access so he could change the media settings. I checked to appropriate box for media settings, refreshed from server, he relogged, and no go. How do I give him access?

You have to buy a stream changer. Go to Raster Teazle's store and get a simple one. Add all to access list in stream changer and place on parcel. If parcel is group-owned - add your name also to the stream changer and then deed it to the group.

Thank you all for the replies. I normally change it for him, but was unable to get to an event on time yesterday.

There are many types/styles of media changers in SL. Most are passed off as DVD players, VHS, TV's etc. Basically what they do, is you (as land owner) give the script permission to change the url remotely. If you are sole owner of the land, then you do not need to deed the player, just rez it, however if you have deeded the land to a group, then you must deed the player to that group. If group deeded, then any member of that group can use the controls, or in the case of sole land owner, you can check the option in the edit box of the player 'share with group' having first selected the correct group (do not click deed button), again any member of that group will be able to operate the controls. Our own system (no plug intended) uses a media receiver, which is the only part that requires permissions from the sole land owner, or group deeded.. and a seperate player that can be asigned to any group you wish (again not deeded), the player works within 20 mtrs of the receiver so can be hidden in a skybox or a wall, then with the remote control, you can give that to any individual to operate the player from within 100mtrs of the player.
