So i have two disk drives. I use the operating system on one and have the second one as a multiple sotrage device. THing is, the cache address for second life writes on the operating system drive, which has very limited space. Is there any way to change the cache address so it wont write on that disk and write on the other disk instead?

Mikael--

Check out the Knowledge Base article:
How do I move the Second Life cache?

As noted, this only works on a Windows PC with an NTFS formatted C: Drive.

Also note, that you will still see references to the cache files on your C: Drive; however, those are just links to the locations of the new files, and will not be using up any significant space on your C: Drive.

Hi!

I have the same problem as the OP, unfortunately, my C: drive is formatted with FAT32. Is there absolutley no other way of moving my cache to another drive? Better yet, moving the whole SL folder from Documents and Settings\%USERNAME%\Application Data to another location?

Thank you!

Wow thanks for this great tip! I have the same problem with partitions. I have my windows installation partitioned relatively small. Its almost full.. I just moved several cache and profiles for Second Life and Thunderbird and have almost 3 gigs on my windows C: now.

I wish I had seen this tip months ago.
