I'm wondering with all this AR your neighbor thing how will ARs will work. 1. If I dont like somebody will I be able to AR them a few times in hope they will be banned without any explanation and I will just smile at this? 2. Or each AR that is submitted should be examined by Linden Lab and if it has no base they will take action against me? I would really like the second option, abuse reports should not be made lightly, and if they are done, there should be some kind of disciplinary measure for those who abuse its use. We should really give a second and a third thought before clicking on the abuse report tool, we should consider that we're no judges and that what is not ok for me, it can be ok for a lot of people. I hope this monday will shed light over the blog entry that has caused so many doubts and that Daniel will stick to concrete line guides to what can or cant be done. And I hope that we residents behave as adults and not abuse the abuse report tool. /me hopes not to be flammed. Just my opinion.

Problem is that it all depends on which Linden is responding as to which of the two choices you'd get and there is no way to appeal the decision unless you take it to court.
If there was a working appeal system in place, people would feel a lot better about the AR system and it wouldn't matter so much which breed of Linden you got.

If we all behaved as adults we wouldn't need to AR each other. I would hope all AR's would be at least initially investigated for vailidity, and frivolous ones thrown out, but I am not expecting it sadly.. When basic customer service questions go unanswered for long periods of time, I am not optimistic about this. I see AR's being massively abused, out of Reasons ranging from business competition , to pettyness and prejudice, and even well intentioned but misinformed community service.

I would hope 99% of all ARs would be thrown out as not even worthy of investigation - leaving the Lindens to concentrate on the important stuff. Like - "Child Av in a halter top in a store" would be ignored But "Children haveing sex in my backyard" wouldnt. My guess though is anything with child in it at all even if its abotu a kid chewing gum and walking at the same time will get the DEA treatment. I cant wait for the ARs .. "I want to report Rape Play! I was flying and flew past a Skybox and heard the Woman go "No, NO omg No! i cant take any more!"

If anyone is ARing people just because they don't like them, they should have action taken against them. Abuse reporting is for violations of terms of service - not a personal retribution tool. I hope people will be adults and treat it as such. Some fool just put up some open skypod sexgen bed rentals within eyeshot of my skybox - in a PG sim. You bet I'll be abuse reporting that. I don't want to see people going at it while I'm working on stuff - that's why I'm in a PG sim.

My fear is, as frivolous lawsuits have damaged the American legal system, frivolous ARs will damage SL. Hopefully the Lindens will keep track of these and ban those who go to the AR well too often.

From: CobaltBlue Mill Hopefully the Lindens will keep track of these and ban those who go to the AR well too often. No, banning on frequency sounds too much like a quota system. Some people have reasons to AR more than others, and there can be valid reasons for this. An estate administrator or manager of a popular club might have a lot of griefers on a regular basis, and they shouldn't have to fear being penalized because they filed too many AR's for the month. The banning for abuse of AR's should only come if people are using it as a personal tool to get revenge on someone they don't like, by filing frivolous AR's with no basis in fact. People should feel free to file a valid abuse report whenever they are being affected by an abuser of the TOS, and can back it up with a screenshot or chat log as proof of abuse.

I would like to know how someone would prove someone needing an AR? Seriously I hope it isn't with a copied note card because anyone can make up a note card like they had a conversation with the accused. I have seen this happen when my X showed me how it works and I was shocked!
How many strikes does someone get and how long do they hold those strikes against that individual before it is zeroed out?

Seriously I hope it isn't with a copied note card because anyone can make up a note card like they had a conversation with the accused. I have seen this happen when my X showed me how it works and I was shocked! They can see chat logs. Any time I've AR'ed somebody for something that had a verbal component, I've included a log of what was said but am always careful to not do any editing to make one side look better (or worse). From: Annabelle Vandeverre Some fool just put up some open skypod sexgen bed rentals within eyeshot of my skybox - in a PG sim. You bet I'll be abuse reporting that.
