So since being in SL I have ony had this happen on 3 seperate ocasions.

the last 2 on my land. sometimes it affects everyone sometimes only 1 or 3.
what? well just floating away... cant go down or up you can cotrol Hz movement, if you catch it you can sit on a prim and stay.

The last time I sent in for help request the Linden came and said it was a scanning intruder alarm or other script on my land.

this time by tping out and back it fixed it.
I don't think its a script and if it is how would I find the offending one?
Is there a way to re-set all the scripts on the land you own?

Sometimes crossing over from a sim to another will cause you to just 'slingshot' across the sim - this usually crashes you or you suddenly find yourself back at 'point A'. Also, if you are experiencing high packet loss - the communication between computers is screwed up and you may float of or walk under the land. These are old 'known' bugs that LL tries to fix with limited success.

No its not a sim crossing issue, I know all about those this is lets say I am sitting on a pose ball/chair/prim I tp some one in to my land and we all just float up into the air up up and away not the sime sling shot sim crossing or the sim fly forever bug.

the last time it did it and I let myself float away I got to 1000+m and finally slowly came back down. and when I landed everything was ok.

btw its not a orbit as you go up real real slow
also no bumps or pushes, I have witnessed this at a club, with 40 on the island and watched maybe 70% of the AVs go floating away

Next time it happens press ctl+shift+1, this brings up the sim stats screen and look at the fps and time dialation numbers for the sim.

fps should be in 40s and time dialation at (close to) 1.00 if all is normal.

I find that when I get helium up my butt (floating away) the fps and/or time dialation have usually dropped significantly.

At these times I can only rotate (left right arrows) and can not go forward, back, up or down.

no wasn't it had 40 fps and no packet loss either.

I have a friend looking for the offending script. that has to be it

Methinks it's not a script. Push scripts don't push you around all that fluidly.. What is happening is that something in the havok physics engine is breaking.. and gravity is disabled temporarily.. thus, you float. It has happened to me a few times as well.

This has happened to me quite a few times past few days. Happens on my First Land when I fly up to my little studio. Just the other day it happened when I teleported to NCI and I was floating straight up with another guy that had just teleported as well.

a bit more info..

I have 1/8 the sim on the boarder.
I have quite a few dance balls... maybe 7 in a club, a rotation script a few tip jars basic, a scripted mic stand, and a tiki dance ball
I have a money tree on another plot connected but still its own lot, on this and witch crosses lot lines (all mine) I have a sky box with many bitts and bobs pose balls, DD furniture with poses as well as sex-o-matic drive
3 diff cuddle rugs both with drive, and 2 beds both drive based.
This started well before all of this was there. but was very rare.
Since the sky box it has been much worse...Daily since I posted this. and will happen on TPing into, and more frequently while standing from any of the diffrent pose balls.
I am beginning to think it has to do with the older pose ball bug that I thought was fixed.

edit---just happened again sim fps 45 time 0.99 so all seems normal

debug menu recives this when it happens
WARNING: UpdateMeshTextures:invalid host for object (then I assume uid# ?) 73233412-F364-4adc-ba50-00227_____
then this time I came back down in 90 seconds with a WARNIG: Removing Region 2575636:263680

this sucks!
cant have any events had t days of live music I cant have, cant have any fun with the AVs in those fun poses ;)

also its the entire sim I tried all over on diff parcels, next door sim I could not get to do it

ROFL^

it seems like it..

Another update: Althogh last night it did still happen a couple times out of 10 things seemed to settle down.

Something I did do was reset all the pose balls on my land as well as make sure any cuddle/sex driven sets were turned off (put in stop) but after this I did have bad sim FPS 12-25 and time was 0.38

So maybe its still the sim

I don't know what causes it, but every time this happens it is always at an edge of a sim. I think there is an issue with the sims and edges. I just don't know how to reproduce it on demand. I do know that it was happening to me and then the sim next to me restarted. After the restart, the behavior stopped.

Update
02-28-2007 08:16
For any one experiencing this...

We have it fixed Thank you Mia Linden. Mia came and saw first hand what was happening... now we could not find the cause, but the TD was bouncing on the region. Mia gave it a re start and all is good (for now)

Mia did also note that this can happen while wearing scripted attachments ... but removing them did not seem to fix the issue.

took a good 30 min pleading in the help request... but wanted to let everyone know there are Lindens out in the Grid willing to help and take a look at things.

Thanks again Mia :D
I can use my land again

Every time this has happened lately the TD has been bouncing around - I once saw 0.03!!! How the sim was up I will never know ... nice friendly helpful Lindens restarted it every time (and some of our customers call ME the Sim Killer now!)
