I really don't know in what section to write this so I've chosen to do it here.
On my land I recently changed the sand it had to grass. But I had to change it using prims, opening them up as wide as they go then placing them on the ground after changing their texture to grass. Along the edge on the land I places hedges of grass as a wall for privacy.
Next to my land is a totally empty land that has a "For Sale sign. It's been empty since I've been there and that's more then 7 months already. But it seems one of my hedges is being counted on this land as a prim and it gets returned to my inventory all the time.
The thing here is, the hedge itself is on top of the grass prim and there's also a piece of a rug, the corner of a rug is also on that spot. So the hedge is actually on top of 2 other prims that extend a foot or so further towards this other land. So my question is, how can the hedge count on this other persons land and the prim (floor prim of grass) and the rug not count on it yet, the grass and the rug extend a few feet further then the hedge towards the other land?
I moved the hedge in towards my land to take it off the other land. But now behind it, towards the other land I have the grass prim and the rug extending about 3, 4 feet towards the other land yet they don't count on it as prims.
I clicked on this other land and I have more space towards this other land which I'm not using but the line marking the land zigzags in one spot towards my land and thats where the problem is. In just this one spot in zigs into my land.
Is this a bug? Other then taking off the hedge which I don't want to do or moving it in more which also will look messed up since it won't be in line with the rest of the hedges, would there be a solution to this?
Any suggestions, please?
Thanks for any help.

Well there's a lot of consternation on the board recently about Items being returned for 'no apparent reason.' But, I suspect that your problem is similar, but simpler. Prims are associated with the land plot upon which they are CENTERED. The center of the Prim determines whether or not it on your land or someone elses. Its easy to overlap someone elses property with trees and shrubs...and an occasional rug corner. AutoReturn will send back anything whose center point is over the line. Property owners can call for a Linden's help if someone else's property hangs over onto their land, even if the objects center is on the adjoining plot. The hedge sounds like it was clearly on the neighbors property. The rug and grass-prim sound like they are on yours, although lapping generously onto your neighbor's land. The Hedge was probably autoreturned. The rug and grass-prim require Linden intervention to return. A little help on this next part? = I believe that multiple linked prims are counted as being on the plot of land on which the ROOT prim's center is located. I'm not sure how autoreturn affects that. I suspect that the entire assembly is returned if the center of any linked part is on someone else's property.

From: Sterling Whitcroft I believe that multiple linked prims are counted as being on the plot of land on which the ROOT prim's center is located. I'm not sure how autoreturn affects that. I suspect that the entire assembly is returned if the center of any linked part is on someone else's property. I just had my alt create a plywood box (root prim), linked to a 10m long box and I couldn't return it, even though the geometric center should have been on my land, so it seems it's the center of the root prim that determines which parcel a linkset belongs to.

From: Kitty Barnett so it seems it's the center of the root prim that determines which parcel a linkset belongs to. Yes!

Select the prim and look at where the red, blue and green arrow lines converge, that is the center of the object. Howerver, it is improper to let your prims hangover onto another persons property, even if the center is on your property.
