Using Inventory Items for Second Avatar/Account

Hello,

I am only a few weeks old so I have a very newbie question.

My current avatar/account now has many Inventory items that I either acquired or purchased. Would I be able to use those Inventory items for a second avator/account, should I create one? If so, I'd appreciate any tips and tricks on how to do this.

Thank you,
Avanti

Hello Avanti and welcome :)
Basically, you can copy or transfer only those items with those permissions, to a second avatar. There are no special features of an alternate or second avatar over and above giving your items away to anyone else.
Creating a group and having both avatars as members and have group enabled items has been suggested here but I can't comment on this practice.

An alt is just another Player, as far as SL is concerned. The Servers can't tell your alt is also you. If the inventory item in question can be copied or transferred, then you can give a copy or the original to the alt. If it is a no-transfer item, you can't give it to the alt.

In most cases, if you and your alt need to share items, like furnishings in a home or skybox, giving each account mod rights for the other will make that easy enough. Then you can move a chair or whatever that was placed by the other account.

With some items, only the owner can modify scripted options. So the item may need to be deeded to a group that both you and the alt are part of, with the appropriate permissions set in group roles and in the item to allow group members to modify or move it.

In most cases, it's best just to buy new copies of the no-transfer items for the alt.

You can transfer L$ from one account to another simply by paying the other account via their profile listing or the Friends list. Having your alts on your Friends list makes this handy.
