Or more precisely, I need a photograph of your face. I'm an artist in SL and I need many, many, face shots for a project I'm working on. I can't pay you but I will chose one randomly drawn person to chose any of the sculptures from my gallery for free. Note, the art I am working on may be sold and if that bothers you, please don't submit it. I'd like to say I'll credit all those who submit but if I do that, and I miss someone, their feelings will be hurt. Lets just say I'll do my best effort to credit all who submit faces. To submit a face shot, teleport to my skybox at Innovatia Park 154, 214,651. ( http://slurl.com/secondlife/Innovatia%20Park/154/214/651/) You'll find a green backdrop and a blue back drop. (I'll use these to remove the background from the shot, I just want your head.) If you have blue in your head, use the green one, if you have green, use the blue one. If you have both, well, I don't know! Zoom your camera in close and take a nice high rez screen shot. Save it to your hard drive and then email it to me at wake@secondseeker.com. (This way I'll pay any upload fees.) For the project I have in mind I need about a 1,000 head shots, so please, spread the word. Thank you Wake

What's in this for you?
I can think of a few things.
1) A chance to win one of my sculptures. This is good if you happen to like my work. Also good if you think my work is worth something and you want to resell it.
2) You get to help out someone. This being the "resident answers" section I figured that some might want to do this.
3) And the most important reason of all is that you get to participate in art. Art in SL is very different from art in RL. RL art is, for the most part, observatory. He you can touch and climb on the art. In SL art, the art public can interact very closely with the artists. If this is your thing, great. Who knows, maybe your face will be prominantly visible and I'll become famous and you'll enjoy the connection.
So if none of these interest you, carry on. If any do, I welcome your face.
Wake.

From: Zaphod Kotobide What's in this for us? You're just bitter because of the pictures of you that were hanging in the Post Office.

Would you accept it as a texture if we wanted to keep our email confidential?

Yellow is another background colour you can use for chroma keying, as long as its a primary yellow and not a shade.

Actually I was just being facetious.. and I'm quite proud of those post office pics. It's the ones in the restroom stalls that concern me. From: Brenda Connolly You're just bitter because of the pictures of you that were hanging in the Post Office.

Hmmm..this sounds like a Casting Couch scheme to me.....

just a suggestion that might be helpful-
there are tons of reference books available for artists with thousands of headshots from a multitude of angles... trying to wrangle free models will get you mixed results, at best.
if figurative study is something you'd like to pursue, they're a worthwhile investment.
I understand that using actual SL residents might be part of the point- but if the sculptures are more important than the concept, you'd do well to explore a lot of different resources.
good luck- LT

Wake You open the texture up, and then, I forget the exact command, but there should be one like 'save as' I think that will save it to your hard drive, provided you have full perms.
