Hi there, Silly question, but I am new to renting out shops to people and have trouble finding out the answer to my question (search needs to be taken out back and shot indeed!). What is the going rate for a large shop with 100 prims? I have 14 units on 8192 land and am currently charging L$200 for 100 prims, which people seem to be happy with. However this is not enough to even break even, I would need to charge at least 300 to have some profit. Would people go for that? Would they laugh at me if I tried charging L$400 for 100 prims? R

R I've seen shops charging 500 per week for 100 prims, so I guess you could. However, I'd inform your current shopkeepers befor you do so. Mandy C

Hi, You can ask 5 linden per prim per week, if you provide a nice shop with some traffic. L$ 400 per week for 100 prims sounds good to me. Meni.

Thanx for the advice folks. Yeah its a new mall (a week or so) so traffic is only 2700 or so at the minute, all but one shop is rented out, so I would wait until traffic improves before asking for more money. I have taken out a 4000 advert to get people to come by, did that yesterday so not sure if its gonna work or not. Anyone got any advice on how much you should spend on an advert for a mall? More importantly what I should write in it etc? Obviously I would give fair warning to my residents about any changes in prim/rent amounts. R

Shameless self promotion mode here... The Metaverse Messenger is an excellent place to advertise as well. A number of our clients have report sales increases of 40% or more after beginning to advertise in the M2. Information is available at http://advertising.metaversemessenger.com. Thanks, P2

Ask your merchants to donate items and place a Lucky Chair in your mall. Use the phrase Lucky Chair in your ad = it will bring people in!
Oh and a Pick of the mall to your profile - I just looked at your profile to TP there and there was no identifying information allowing me to search for it.

ill pay $200/wk for a lot with 100 prims. i also pay $600/wk for a spot on the wall for a vendor or two. the price isnt only about prims, its also about location. i will pay heaps more to be in the company of pro merchants, and will pay very little for a place in a campzone. so if you create a campzone to rort the traffic system people will likely want to spend even less.
