My answer is not here

Step 4: Submit a ticket

Is this correct? Did i really spend half an hour to figure that requesting a region restart is submitting a ticket type 'region' request 'other' ?

BTW, what did they do with the nice, useful, hirarchically organized client documentation that was available at <http://secondlife.com/app/help/index.php> and also in-world? This was packed with useful information, menu reference, building tips, limits (max link number and distance...), something I could learn a lot. Where is it now? In the "knowledge dump"?

Well, that's what I did, and it worked.

The Region Down Report now links to the support portal, so same player shoot again.

However, I need to request a restart for a *running* Mainland region (to clear the phantom prims).

Raynor needed exactly the same for the same reason, and it worked.

If you beg and plead with a Linden directly, sometimes they can help you without you having to go through official channels. See if George Linden's around, he's been very helpful with sim issues in the past.

From my Ticket asking "How to Request a Region Restart?" I also asked about the invisble prim issue from deleting prims at the same time.

"
To request a restart, you may create a new ticket. You may select Region Issues for Ticket Type, then choose the Region Request that best matches the issue.

The issue with invisible prims that can’t be selected, but you can’t walk through them and they appear on your parcel’s prim count is a known issue we are currently investigating. I don’t know all of the details, but I can tell you this may happen when you take or return an object in-world. A region restart usually fixes this issue.

Regards,

Frontier"

Dude, you are a true and good friend, and I love you like the brother that my mom claims she never had, but you are in fact acting like a flaming douche on white toast with a side order of dickknob salsa..maybe you should reconsider this course of action and we go find something else to do.

Seeing I only got a response once of the 3 times I went throught that crap that explained what a region was, how to make crap coffee etc, I just give up, regions can stay down or bugged till Lindens fix this or someone with more patience or a concierge connection sorts it. We used to have a staight button with a nononsense menu the we used when we knew what we wanted, but now we are treated like 2yo's and have to spend 15minute jumping through hoops to report a simple problem.

After the first time you request a restart, there's an easier way- you can just reopen the ticket, which sends out a new request.

I used
"Technical issue --> I've logged in, but there is a problem --> Land --> Land Settings "
yesterday and I got a SIM restart just five minutes after the creation of the ticket.
By the way, thank you Lotte Linden for that!

Lol... went through same process as the OP then searched here!

Followed Checho's advice (after realising that the choices he suggests are once you arrive at the support ticket) and by the time I'd got to work and got out of a meeting it was reset.
