On the general tab of "my Land" infor the traffic count keeps reseting.
A) any clue why?
B) any advice on accuratlely tracking incoming traffic to my land?
I just opened up a mall (Avatar Bazaar) and these statistics are vital info for potential vendors.
PLZ help and TY!

The traffic counter shows daily traffic, not total. Also, that traffic number is not the number of people that show up at your land. Some people say every time one avatar spends 5 minutes on your land, the traffic number goes up by one.... but im not sure.

If you want to keep a decent record of who comes onto your land, you need an object containing a script that will record it. Mine also tells people what's going on (at my gallery) and more recently, in my house (because of huge newbie influx in our sim) tells people this is a private residence and please don't stomp all over my bed and walk in on me... doesn't help, but the thought is there Basically, you can set an object with a script that detects avatars within a certain range that will record, and email wnen you're offline, a list of people who come into that range. Traffic does reset, and isn't very helpful for your records. I'd find the script and post it for you now, but you'd really work it out much quicker if you searched the scripting forums or if someone clever who is more awake at 01:57 can explain it to you Is doable though, and simple enough that nobody ought to charge you for the script.

From: Erin Talamasca I'd find the script and post it for you now, but you'd really work it out much quicker if you searched the scripting forums I did actually mean this in a friendly way not a lazy way - by the time I got round to hitting 'submit this reply' it was just gone 2am and any attempts at helpful replies I would have given you would have involved bunnies and brownies and termites and probably wouldn't have helped in the slightest... If nobody's replied by the time I'm awake again I'll happily help, but I'm sure that's unlikely.

You may also be interested in a "greeter robot" These lil guys welcome any new visiter that enters your land, gives em a bit of information, gives them a gift, and records their name into a log. The greeter robot then will ignore anyone who has already been greeted when they return. Some people find the greeter robots annoying, but they are effective in recording all the new visitors, and they have a lot of settings to make them lass annoying.
