The optional update won't install for me. Keeps coming up with error messages. I can get into game by opting out of installing it, but then I get a bunch of error messages trying to do various things. The website isn't responding nicely to me either, refusing to take passwords, making me decipher stuff...anyone else having similar issues? I glanced through here but don't see any similar posts.

Are you trying to use the auto-update feature (which normally is flaky, at best)? Or are you downloading the files to your hard drive from the Support > Downloads web page, and installing them manually? A manual install is far better.

I managed to download and install it just fine. But with the new viewer textures won't load (at all!), my avi's clothing won't download, I can only TP 50% of the time, and I get logged off every 20 minutes.

I've tried all the usual gubbins. Reinstall. Cleared cache. Restarted computer. I am using the latest graphics card drivers, my PC meets all specs, and I'm not using Vista

Anyone else having any problems with the latest release?

Jack, do a full uninstall of Second Life. Go to the Downloads page of the Second Life site, download the viewer, and re-install. I've never seen that fail.

I've had this problem too, and did as advised above. Same problems. So, I uninstalled SL again, cleared my IE cache of temporary files, downloaded a clean copy of the installer (thinking that the original installation download may have been corrupted in the process), then RE-RE-Installed SL 1.15.1.3. Still getting the "Can't open file" error messages throughout the process. The client does run, but there are some bizarre behaviors (like getting "INSERT FEATURE is missing" error messages when changing preferences).

I don't know what OS the OP is running, but I'm running XP X64. Could that be the problem?

So far no luck even with a reinstall, either. Did you get any further with it? I have my fingers crossed that maybe the whole thing will just resolve with the next patch.

By the way, as always, it is nice to hear people post that theirs is working just fine.
