I have a Second Life account and my daughter has a Teen SL account. Is there any way to tranfer L$ from my account to hers?

Thanks

Well.. given that they seem to use the same database for names, I would assume it was possible. It might be easiest to use a service like SLexchange.. Your daughter could list a reprehensibly expensive item on SLexchange, and you could buy it from her. SLeX would get a linden out of the deal.. but hey, it's not bad if you're shifting 3 digits or better.

I enquired about the same thing as regards my daughter, the Lindens won't let you directly transfer anything from main grid to teen, including L$.

There is backhand way though. Sell your L$ on LindeX, then get your daughter to buy. If both accounts are on the same CC it will roughly balance out, minus a few transaction fees.

Do NOT just transfer funds to your daughters teen account. That could get you banned....well....maybe suspended for 3 days!:)

I asked Cenji who owns Apez.biz to look into getting a ATM machine placed in the teen grid. His bank is web-based so we can transfer money between accounts easily. This is something we should rally for. The teen grid isn't more than a wasteland. If we can give our kids some Lindens to work with they can get more accomplished there.

LL won't transfer funds back to a CC, they'll only accept it as payment for your account. To transfer US$ they'll only give you the options of being paid by check or by paypal.

The only way for it to balance out on your credit card would be if you had them send you a check and then you use that check to pay your credit card bill. Or you have both SL accounts using the same paypal account, then you can have SL transfer the US$ to the paypal and use that same paypal to let your daughter buy L$.

www.apez.biz in teen grid? Possible with LL blessing.

It would be possible for any of the banking services in the main grid to setup in the teen grid, including www.apez.biz. However, it would be conditional on LL allowing an avatar to be created in the teen grid to act as the 'funds holder' for LL deposits and place out ATMs and the like.
Bascially, what would happen when you make a web-site transfer from a main grid account to a teen grid account, is that the server would contact a dispenser in the teen grid to pay out the L$. That means the teen grid funds-holder avatar would need to have enough L$ balance to cover all such transfers. The most likely way to do that would be for the bank to use the teen LindeX (assuming there is one) to buy $L using $US.

So, in summary, it is possible provided LL gives the ok.

If it would make them feel better, it would be possible for the Apez site to required a registered main grid 'gardian' for each teen grid avatar - where the gardian could have access to the transaction logs for the teen. Just a thought.
All this would require some time to implement of course.

To quote the last of a few emails I exchanged with Blue Linden (without permission - but I'm sure he won't mind):

I'm afraid there's no way currently to allow you access to TG. Making a
TG avatar to act as funds-holder is not acceptable. Hopefully when
we've got a means of inter-grid commerce available, you will find this a
means of conducting business with the teens. I will be conducting some
tests soon, so hang in there. :)

Hang in there. For some reason I have hope. I figure the Lindens will like this one. We take a portion of our SL income and throwit at the teen grid each week. Does anyone hazard to guess what the pros or cons of this would be?
