The biggest risk is to the buyer, not really the seller that much (http://www.secondlifeinsider.com/2007/07/20/there-can-be-only-one-a-perilous-tale-of-island-transfer/).

Escrow is probably the safest to the buyer, if you could find one willing to handle "virtual goods".
