I'm new here obviously. I just purchased a prem membership. I was told I can purchase 512 of land. From what I found I can't. I can only rent and then pay people through paypal. Is there a way to purchase land at 512 using my membership or is that impossible now?

You need to find a 512 plot of land to buy - if you own a 512 plot - your membership price doesn't increase - when you buy more - it will - see land tier prices.
To find a 512 plot - use the 'search' button on the bottom of your in game screen and press the tab - land sales - it very self explanatory from that point on. There was a time when there was 'first land' a 512 plot sold to new prem. accounts for 512L - but thats gone now because of a few bad apples. Land prices - You may have to buy some L$ to afford a piece of land - but - its well worth it. _____________________

Yeah, I tried that. These people want L$1000 a week in a papal account. I can't seem to find any property at all that won't cost me a weekly fee.

Search Land Sales, and restrict your search to "Mainland".

Yeah I checked that too. I guess there is no place where I can get "land". I have to buy the objects in the land. I just cant get land without costing me anymore than what I am paying in my premium membership.

It may not be available in 512 blocks, but in that case, you can meet up with some other premium members, buy a larger block, and then divide it between you. If you can find a new region, which has just been bought by a land reseller and divided, you might be able to ask them to zone a 512 for you, too. |

No you don't need to buy objects. Go to land search. Sort by land sales-mainland. then sort by price per meter. Start teleporting tp the 512s on the first page. You will find some for under $6500. you click on about land and you can buy from there.

I just cant get land without costing me anymore than what I am paying in my premium membership. You are limited to a maximum of 512 so you need a 512 parcel or smaller. In addition you need to not be contributing any land to any group. You can see this information on your account page. Finally, you have to buy Mainland only for your payments to stay 9.95 If you are meeting those requirements and still it wont let you buy land for your current per month rate than something is wrong. |

I like to stay on top of new regions and I often come across parcels of 512 size.
I guess I am wondering what you mean by 'can't' on your first 512 you should be able to buy one without incurring any additional tier. If you have looked on mainland, then was it that you actually could not find any 512 sized parcels? Or was it that you did not like the price? Does it matter if it is PG or Mature land? This makes me curious I think I will go inworld and find one and post it here. Feel free to IM me if you like. ![]() _____________________

I was trying to page through the 512 sm parcels for sale but the land search speed limit shut me down. I do not like the land search speed limit. I can't land search 55.
Prior to getting shut down for looking too fast, I'd seen 8 screens of 512 sm parcels. That's at least 800 parcels sized 512 sq. m. _____________________

After about 15 minutes of searching I found this area that had quite a few 512's in a relatively empty area.
http://slurl.com/secondlife/Erzulie/155/80/40 So they are definitely out there, try the new continent for the freshest start. Although the 512's I saw on older land appeared to be less expensive, the prices I saw were all between 6200 and 7200L. Hope the helps. ![]() _____________________

I always use the map when searching for land.
Open the map. tick the box over in the top right area that says "land sales" or something like that. the map will now show you, with little $ and yellow patches, where all of the land for sale is. Zoom in on the area that you like and click on the dollar sign. It should show you the price and size of the land for sale. There's a lot of new land plots down on the southern continent and more in the new continent to the Northeast. |

I guess what I'm not understanding is the pricetag on the land. My understanding was that I was able to get at least 512 of land for no additional charge. Is the pricetag just a one time fee I pay to the owner? |

Yes - your premium membership allows you to own land, but you still have to purchase it from another owner - that purchase price is a one time fee. |

You hold 512 m2 of land -- or donate 512 m2 of tier to a group. Your monthly land use fee is US$0. You will need to buy the land, however. |

My understanding was that I was able to get at least 512 of land for no additional charge. Is the pricetag just a one time fee I pay to the owner? You're confusing the two different expenses incurred with land ownership: 1) Land purchase: even with the First Land program, you had to pay for the land you wanted, you just got a bargain rate. You will recoup at least part, if not all, of your purchase price if you ever decide to sell. Some people make a profit when land prices continue to rise after the original purchase. 2) Land tier: You get up to 512sm of land free from tier, but as soon as you go over that amount, LL will charge you a monthly tier fee. How much you pay in tier is determined by how much land you have bought. You don't get this back if you sell, but your monthly tier will drop as your land holdings reduce in size. _____________________

Thanks for the help everyone. It just got kind of confusing because some people where asking for a weekly payment of $1000 or more. If you can't buy the land without a rental fee to the Estate Owner (rather than Linden Labs), then you're on an island, not the mainland. Mainland = land ownership with tier paid to Linden Labs Island = land lease with rent paid to the Island owner (who then pays tier to LL) _____________________

when looking at parcels for sale, use the land options tab and make sure there is no covenant
with no covenant in place, u only buy the land off the person selling and it`s completly urs, easy and fast way to figure out if ur on an island or not without checking the map every time and can look around pritty fast. u could also use the map(when working) and disable all options except for land for sale, there is another continent to the east from the 2 mainlands wich has still alot of land for sale and seems more stable then the 2 old continents (less crashing, less population) |
