They used to have a maintence thread here in forums where you listed coords and overlapping prims were taken care of in a day. But they took that away along with all the other support......

Get a whole bunch of friends together and all of you abuse report the same person for the same offense?

last time i had a problem with a rude neighbor who had purposely pushed into my land to harass me, I spoke to live help. They advised me to email: Guy Linden. He took care of the problem within 48 hours.

Now your situation is different from mine. In my case, the offender did not own the land the harassing prims were on (although she was friends with the land owner, and somehow, curiously, that land's auto-return got turned off). Guy linden simply returned her porno prims. 4 weeks later, an entry showed up in the police blotter.

In your case... your offender does own the land that the harassing prims are on. Furthermore, yours doesn't appear to be a direct offensive attack. I suspect that the best you can hope for this early, is for Guy (if he even will) to send the person a warning, asking them to remove the prims; Remember, the Lindens keep harping on the fact that they want us to work out our own disputes.

overhanging prims and being threatend...

i`d build a 100m wall with 10x10x10 cubes and stick it 5m up his side, make ur side alpha and his side bright white
if they can`t be civil, return the favor 3fold heh

Particle flames is the solution!
When you set his trees on fire, I'm sure he'll get the message :p

If you make the big cubes as suggested, make them with alternate faces of flourescent pink and lime green (full bright, of course) and then set them rotating - so the corners overlap his land and completely spoil his trees.

OK, that would normally be a form of griefing but in retaliation for extreme bad behaviour like you've experienced I'd say it's acceptable as a bargaining ploy to get your neighbour to move his trees!

If youy make 10m x 10m vertical thin boards instead of cubes, if you put them just inside your boundary they will overlap his land by almost 5 metres when they rotate.

Thanks for all advice. It seems then, nothing "legal" and official can be done? Do I really need to resort to guerilla warfare? Seems definately lacking....

The Lindens are trying, so do give them every chance on this. But yeah, self-defense is an essential right. Ralph Waldo Emerson: "Nature has made up her mind. That which does not defend itself will not be defended."

First thing: Have you figured out what his motive is? If you know his motive, then you have a better idea of what to do about him.

If it is to force you to sell to him on his terms, that is one thing. If he is just a land-griefer, that is something else. If he has something personal against you and this is one part of a larger, perhaps RL, struggle, that is something else yet again.

Someone in another thread had success selling to a neighboring casino who wanted his prim count for a super-high price and moving to another location at a lower cost. Came out multi-L$ ahead. : D That might be sweet enough revenge.

A griefer? LL and retaliation are probably the only options - unless someone else has a good suggestion?

If it's personal, and you can't patch it up, you probably are stuck with choosing between moving and war. If it's RL - maybe you need to consult a lawyer, not for the SL aspect, but for the rest?

If retaliation is unavoidably required, please take time to figure out what your neighbor-from-hell is using his land for. Then choose the most fiendishly effective option for frustrating that.

Out of ideas for the moment. Can somebody else help?

if lindens don`t do anything and all friendly requests returned with threats, yea, the stupid prim game is the only solution, he overlaps urs, u overlap his

try to avoid using huge prims when making cross borders as that could be seen as hugeprim abuse
use them only with a wall 100% on ur own side to make a quick low prim giant wall :)

I had the same problem with a 512m parcel. Someone put the land next door for sale and then placed trees which extended over half of my parcel.

I sent an email to support and someone from LL came the next day and removed the trees.

Had the same exact problem recently. What could previously be resolved by IMing Guy Linden is no more. I reported the abuse, waited, played by the rules, contacted live help, IM'd every Linden I found online....

Only responses I got were from Data Linden of live help (which is also no more with the new release), who said the abuse team had to handle the problem but recommended to submit an abuse report per day to create a paper trail. I also got an IM response from Michael Linden (who I believe runs the abuse team) asking for my coordinates so he could come over and fix the problem, but he never got around to actually doing it.

Bottom line, after 3 weeks of this, I had to suck in the ego and negotiate a deal with the offender. Had a mob of friends lined up to "return the favor", but opted for quick resolution since it was affecting revenue.

Best,

Cristos

Hey, aren't you one of the 16 sq.m. rotating ad people? I'm pretty sure I've seen your stuff around. Maybe your neighbors don't like your ads and are trying to block them from view.

Not that this gives your neighbors the right to have their trees overlap into your land - but some people see you ad lot folks as being the initiators of guerilla warfare on the mainland and act accordingly.

I think your best bet is to continue to try to negotiate with the neighboring parcel owner. The Lindens don't like to get involved in landowner disputes unless it's severe.

Edit: I'd like to say to those of you who recommend retaliation, get a grip. You don't know the whole story, and neither do I.

No i dont do ads. I sell land. And anyway I agree with your point - it doesnt matter if it was ad land - he does not have the right to cover my 512 and my other land with trees. He would soon complain if i poked trees into his parcels.

I must be confusing you with another Daffodil - I don't see very many.

Another thought I had - when you do file abuse reports, it might be good to paste in a chat log or IM record of anything abusive your neighbor has said to you - Lindens might be more responsive to your request if it is clear that the landowner is doing this as a menacing gesture rather than just accidentally putting in trees that sway over the border. Those Linden trees do have a lot of movement in the breeze.
