Select the first prim you wish to link....then hold shift and left click the second prim you wish to link. Then go to Tools at the top of the screen and select Link, or press Control + L.

To Link Prims:

~Select which Prim you wish to be the Centre point of your creation.

~Right Click on One of the Other Prims, and select edit, it will outline in Yellow.

~In Turn, Shift-Left click on Each of the Other Prims you wish to join in a group.

~Finally, shift-Left click on the prim you have Chosen to be the Centre of the structure.

~Hit Ctrl-L, The Yellow Outline on all the prims Except the Last Prim will turn Grey. The Last Prim, Now called the Parent Prim will remain Yellow.

*Prims need not touch to be Linked, But the Centre of the prims Must be Less than ten Meters apart.

*The Maximum size of a group of Linked objects is 40 meters.(Assuming Four Ten Meter Prims as an example).

*There IS a Maximum Number of Prims that can be contained in One Linked Object, I believe it is around 60 to 80 (Not sure of the exact Number).

*All coordinates showing for the Linked Object in the Edit Window are the Coordinates for the Parent Prim

*Using the On screen Rotation Rings on a linked Object, the Object will rotate around it's Physical Centre.

*Using the Up/Down Buttons on the Rotation fields on in the Edit Window, the Linked Object will Rotate around the Centre point of the Parent Prim (Very handy to Know when setting up Angled Roofs).

*You Can edit Individual Prims contained within a larger Object by selecting the "Edit Individual Prim" option on the Menu (Or the Select Texture If you only want to change or Modify texture on One face of One Prim).

**Important Note** :
The Linked Object Will take on the Greatest restriction Characteristics of any single Prim Incorporated as the restrictions of the Whole (For example, Add one Prim with a "No Copy" or "No Transfer" restriction on a texture, and the WHOLE object will become No Copy, or No Transfer. There is NO way to Reverse this Restriction, You will be Stuck with it).

To Delink (Single Prim from Group):
~In the Edit Window, Select "Edit Individulal Prim" (Bottom selection in the Menu that contains "Position", "Size", "Rotate", "Select Texture", Etc.).

~Left Click on the Prim you Wish to Delink.

~Hold down Ctrl and Shift and hit L (Ctrl-Shift, L) the Grey outline will turn Yellow, and the "Edit Individual Prim" Option will Deselect. (If you are delinking the Parent Prim, the Prim will remain Hellow, the "Edit Individual Prim" option will NOT deselect, and the Second to Last Linked prim in the group will become the Parent Prim for the group.)

To Delink (Whole Group):
~Simply Open the Edit Window,

~Left Click on the Linked group,

~Hit Ctrl-Shift, L. The Outlines for All prims in the group will turn from Grey to Gold, and they will be Delinked.

Hope this Helps as well.

Angel.
