Inventory System is Unavailable?

I can log into my Main Avatar, but when trying to log into my alt, it tells me that the Login Failed and that the Inventory system is unavailable. But on my regular avatar everything is fine. Is anybody else having this particular problem?

Yes, there is a big problem with the hardware at LL right now. Someone stated that it seems related to avatar age as to which avatars can log in. Supposedly older ones can log in; this is true; I just logged in with an old, silly alt.

Me too, after reading this, just logged in no probs at all with an ancient av long forgotten,very strange trip down memory lane.

See blog...been a problem for 5 hours now. They said it would be fixed by 11.04GMT. 2 minutes to go....lol!! Some chance!

Your inventory is stored on one of 16 inventory servers, one of them apparantly crashed in a very bad way so everyone who has their inventory stored on that server won't be able to log back in until they've restored it (which is probably what the 5 hour time frame refers to).

Not sure why they wouldn't just be specific about it on the blog.

My alt can't get in, but my original av can. Something else I've noticed, though, is that the log in screen is showing the wrong times. It's jumped from 10:21 to 10:35 to 10:15 am.

berryth (is that the spelling hehe) I noticed that too, had to use the world clocks on my cell to work out the pst time hehe.

Please gawd let this thing be fixed soon, alls I wanna do is check my messages and tell me kiddies everythings ok.

well a younger then my own(born this OCT) AV just got on so hopefuly that means thing will be getting back to normal

Ok well if that is true, that explains why the alt can't get in.

This issue is still on going for me! I can't login with any of my avi's. The issue is not fixed !!!

umm, not the blog I am looking at. All it talks about is Windlight....and I wonder why I pay for premium membershp.

When I downloaded the new viewer I could finally play on my Alt I couldn't before, then I relog and log back in to find that it now says my inventory is gone again, even though it was there.

It can't make up it's mind and I'm loosing my continued patience.

I have only been on SL for about 3 weeks, and the number of problems and times that I couldn't use SL are high. Every day is a new adventure in outages or problems. I know that it's complex software, and that it takes time to fix things, but wow. I haven't been able to login for 12 hours now and counting. I'm beginning to wonder if all the money that I spent was worth it now. I'm also disappointed with the non-timeliness of updates. Why do I have to figure out that there's a problem before they inform me? I check blog.secondlife.com before trying to login now, but it's usually several hours late with updates.

This is pretty much SOP for Linden Lab...I can see maybe a brief delay while they figure out how extensive a problem is and whether they'll be able to fix it quickly, but they often seem to take that premise too far. A lot of the time, you're better off checking the forums to see if others are experiencing the same issues.

Do they really need to add the slap in the face after they kick us in the &^^$%#& of thanking us for our patience? Our waiting has nothing to do with patience, where are we to go, who are we to scream at for their continued incompetence?
