Can someone give me the quicktime settings for proper conversion in SL...
I have tried a few settings but can not seem to get them to play properly.
I'm bouncing from WMV To Avi and then to Quicktime

As long as the file is playable by Quicktime, you'll be able to watch it in SL. SL actually doesn't have it's own video player. It hijacks your existing Quicktime player, and maps it onto in-world geometry.
The only thing I'd tell you for settings, is go as low res as possible. Typically 320x240 works really well. As for all your other rendering settings, take your pick. Whatever you're most comfortable with is fine. Again, as long as Quicktime can read it, SL can show it.

And Chosen is correct...anything playable by Quicktime will be fine. Try MPEG-4 as the format. An H.264 codec if you have one handy. If your encoding software has options to indicate that the output will be a Web Stream, set them 'on'. Your video will be really tiny in Sl, not television broadcast, so make the picture small, and 'low quality' to minimize the amount of data that must be sent. There's no L$10 cost to testing your video in SL, so if the encoding is too 'poor', you can just try again. (Transcoding 2 hours of movie can take overnight even on a fast PC, so I usually create a test file of the first minute of the video to play with the video settings. After the test looks right, then I set the full movie running and go to bed )
