My friend and I just recently started playing Second Life again. I logged on to my account with no trouble but when he tries to log in, it says his account has been disabled and he needs to visit the home page to reactivate it. Me nor him can find how to do that. Anyone know what to do? Thanks a lot!

Hi Lingling, can you tell us what you've already tried?

Where I would start:

1) Go to: http://secondlife.com/

2) In the top right corner of the window is the account link.
2a) If it says "Welcome, {your friend's name}!" then click the "My Account" link.
2b) If it says a different name, click "Log Out", then log in with the problem account.
2c) If it doesn't show a "Welcome" message, click "Resident Login"

3) Since the account is disabled, you should get a message at this point telling you what to do.

If the problem is that your friend used an incorrect email, or did not respond to the activation email for whatever reason, it may be as simple as re-entering the correct email address. If that is it, make sure they get the activation email and respond -- if it doesn't come in, check to see if it got caught in your friend's spam filter.

My friend is unable to access anything that has to do with his account. He does have a valid email. He has had the account for quite some time. He can log in to the main page ok, but when he tries to access the "my account" section or even sections like "buy L$", he gets an error saying the system is unable to process his request. It then refers him to the support page, which is not much help, lol.

They should definitely file a support ticket, using the guest access if they can't get into the Support Portal on their own account. Be sure to use the "Special Questions - Basic Account or Guest Login" option, or the request will be ignored. (You can only use the other options if you are logged on with a Premium or Concierge-level account.)

Then call and keep doing so until you get a hold of them:
From: someone
If you have an issue with your account (non-technical, billing/password/etc), you can call our Billing team at: toll-free (US/Canada) 800-294-1067 or long-distance (not free) 703-286-6277. They're available 9AM - 6PM PST, Monday - Friday
