hej all. WIN easy money and free stuff. Do a survey and you earn 1000 dollars in just BLA BLA BLA What the fuck can a gamer as me do when i am not from the sweet USA. thats the only place the surveys are valid. NOT hard to figure out where this game is ment to be played so my question is. DO I REALLY have to make a "fake" account or become great friends with a us resident to do these surveys. because i find it hard to earn L$ when theres not even proper "international" surveys to take. WHAT is international if specific places AGAIN only can be played at. DOES any one know when we will have and "mother earth" surveys. or is it just "dont play this game if you are from europe" game. 'cos no matter else i can only nearly get L$ by camping my ass away or try to win some where in a mind blowing "bad odds" game.

Whoa! Back up there a little, Duck. 1. The surveys you are talking about are run by American companies doing Market research. Their market is..America. So they want to survey?......You get the picture. The surveys are nothing to do with Linden Labs. 2. "NOT hard to figure out where this game is ment (sic) to be played " ?? US residents are now a minority on SL. I believe something like 60% (someone will correct me if I'm wrong) of registrations are people outside the US. I'm European and use SL at GMT friendly times and I meet far more Europeans (Dutch, Belgian, German, French, Spanish etc.) than Americans. SL has become a truly international world. Less of the paranoia already! 3. The world does NOT owe you a living. If you need money, buy some lindens on the exchange. If you don't want to do that, learn a skill and start a business. Or get a job. You can make money (enough to live in SL anyway) in lots of ways and you will be contributing to the community at the same time. Give it a try, it can be rewarding in more than just financial terms. Sorry if I souns a bit harsh but SL is about a lot more than just doing surveys, camping and gambling. Use your imagination, and good luck. Love Suzi

Some of the surveys do work for people outside the US, not many but some. That's how I got my first L$.
Apart from that, what Suzi said. I find it hard to see why so many people who can afford the computer and net connection to play SL seem to feel they can't afford the pittance that L$ cost. I know there are a few places where payment methods are difficult, but if you are that keen it can usually be sorted out.
LL let you in for free. Even without L$ you can do most things and there are enough freebies around to let you pretty yourself up as well as anyone who spends real money. Instead of moaning about having no money, get on and enjoy the world.

I assure you, if you expect to be able to "make a living" filling out surveys for Lindens, you'll be spending all of your online time doing just that. Doesn't make for an enjoyable Second Life experience as far as I'm concerned. The payout from things like this just isn't worth the time and effort involved. There's an employment forum you can look at - there's enough low paying jobs to keep you in steady money, but really you'd be better off just parting with a fistful of Euro's once in a while.
There's better money in the game if you pick up some basic content creation skills, but then you have to learn to market yourself. If you're any good, eventually people will start seeking you out for custom work.
Look at the money you make in-game as a nice extra, not a reason for playing. For all the work and effort you put into making money here, you'll probably make a ton more in the real world unless you get both very good and very lucky and start landing corporate contracts.
As for demographics: according to spreadsheet fgures they posted about a month back, there's more players from northern Europe (let alone the rest of the world) who play SL at least one hour a week, then there are Americans. Its forcing me to brush up on my German, actually...since German newbies seem to be popping up on my land once/twice a week.

oh well i have newer been looking for a way of making a living IRL of this game. BUT just wondering if we are that many form europe etc. then i dont get all these us surveys. but gues i have learnt something here from your response. AND yes there is a lot of other ways to make money in SL i know. but most of the time you are just being refered to the surveys and thats irritates me. even when you search for jobs. surveys are allways the first to pop op. BUT as told i have just been here for 3 weeks. now with a new figure and a little experience. so thanks again for you answers

From personal experience, those surveys SUCK! They aren't even really surveys, just a bunch of opt in "offers." They ask if you want more info on such and such, so that they can legally spam your mailbox. Myself and many others have not gotten paid from doing said "surveys" either. Many have, many haven't. Due to the amount of people that haven't gotten paid from them, I think legally they border more along the lines of fraud than anything else. There are amny many more jobs in SL available. And you probably won't find the best ones on the employment forums. Just enjoy SL, doing the things that you love to do, and a job will come to you that way. It takes some time, and some patience, but it does happen. Gracie

Don't be too upset about being denied the 'privilege' of filling in those H*p**P*y surveys (no free advertising from me); from what I can see, they're more of a nuisance than they're worth, and hour-on-hour less profitable than camping. If you really need $L that badly, and can't or don't want to boost it up with outworld funds, grab one of the sancer/host/security jobs floating around. If you see a nice club, ask if they're hiring; there's always more good jobs than good applicants. Or, alternatively, just find stuff to do that doesn't cost anything; SL needn't be just about shopping and f***ing; although, if you know where to look, they shouldn't cost anything either
