How do I get my money out?

I want to stop playing Second Life now. I have sold up the land I held and I want to know how to get the money out and back into my paypal or credit card account?

Sell all your Lindens and then process credit on your "My account" page I'd imagine, but I've not done that myself.

I read that page but it looked as if the dollars would stay in your SecondLife account to meet future expenses, there was no mention of being able to withdraw them from there.

I think it stays in there to meet bills yes, but next to your US dollar balance is a process credit link, I think that's where you can withdraw. The US dollar balance does pay your fees, I paid mine with it this month.

Yup it's via the process credit link and then they offer three forms of payment, paypal, USA domestic cheque or international cheque, fees apply.

You can only cash out the proceeds from your L$ sales. If you transferred US$ from paypal to your account, you can't get that part of your account balance back. Guess LL did that to prevent money laundering.

Where does it say that? It says you must have full billing information and that you can only process money made from selling L$ but I can't see the paypal link, but I'd be interested to read it if you know where it is. I'd be a bit miffed, not that I'm intending to cash out anytime soonl.

Unless that's a recent change, yes you can...I've done it in the past with no issue.

When you ADD money to your account using the Increase Your Credit link, the Buy Account Credit page states:

From: someone
The account credit added here is an advance purchase of licensed use of Second Life features, and must be applied towards payment of services to Linden Lab, or L$ purchases on LindeX. You may not add credit to your account and request a payment of that credit. (Credit balance due to sales of L$ on LindeX is treated separately, and will paid upon request as described in the "Process Credit" section of your account page.)


So that is the stated policy, but it seems to refer to adding credit and then asking for it to be paid right back to you.

Either way, there is no harm in trying. If it doesn't allow part of your USD balance to be paid back to you, this would be the reason why.

Ah, I see. When I did it, it was because I had two Linden buys say they failed when they hadn't...I wound up getting triple what I wanted. But, yes, I had to sell them and then cash out to get the money back, less fees.

Sorry I got confused reading the various posts here.. can you convert L$ into RL money (not transfered credit to your LL account) as into a RL bank, or Paypal account?

Yes.

Once you sell your lindens for USD$ and you have a USD$ positive balance -

You then click on the "Process Credit"

It will guide you through the steps.

Paypal is by far the best way. It will send your USD$ to your paypal.

Downgrade to free status. Stop playing if thats what you wish - but keeping your account open will save you trouble if you ever wish to come back.
