Hello. I want to DJ just for fun (don't want to dive on the DJ career as my bandwidth can only accommodate a max of 10 listeners, hehe) but I'm having the hardest time configuring my shoutcast server. Any person with a golden heart please answer my following queries: 1) How would I get my URL to be pasted upon the Media tab? 2) How can I set up my mic so that they can hear me talk while i play music? I'm using winamp on this plus a shoutcast server. Thank you very much for the help in advance. ^_^ Any tips will be higly appreciated.

1) Land properties /editor > Media > upper text-entry box. You music source URL should be something like http://80.229.185.151:8000 (that's the URL for my radio station)..... without the URL tags. They're something the BB software adds automatically and I can't get rid of 'em. 2a) The clunky way would be to switch back and forth between 'winamp' and soundcard' for you input source. If you use the Oddsock encoder you'll have to do the same except that you have a list of all the inputs to choose from (mic, line, S/PDIF, etc.) 2b) Buy an external mixing desk and route the output of your DJ program (Traktor, etc.) into it. Plug your mic into it as well. Then you'll need to split the output so that it goes to both your studio speakers *and* your computer soundcard input. In shoutcast you then select the 'soundcard' input. Behringer make good cheap mixing desks. A basic 6:2 or 8:2 mixing desk should be more than ample for your needs.

Shoutcast source>Output tab>Address. You put your address in the address box. Port into Port box and password into password box. In the input tab put your input agent in there. It is normally Winamp. You get the address from your stream supplier or from whatever you have you're own server set to.

Suggest using a USB mike, you can mix the sources in the winamp plugin,
4 components u need
1.winamp installed
2.shoutcast plug in installed on your pc check under -winamp preferences - dsp/effect-configure once the plug in screen is showing under 'yellow pages' enter your server URL
3.shoutcast server somewhere(hosting on your machine may not work) I use the unix version, basically just chmod the start program then . it to start the server.
4.client either SL or winamp... use the port :8080 at the end of your URL in SL media URL.
there is detailed info on the shoutcast page.... work though it step by step.. you will get there.
