I have a dilemma. I'm developing a project alone. I have a couple of friends and one alt to provide enough people for starting the tenants group, my only problem is functionality - like setting home and change music - without deeding the land.

I've read all about it but i still have questions, and that "You can loose your land if settings are not heavenly mastered" makes me somewhat uncertain.

I'm not sure how many people are needed in the admin staff of a group for not loosing the deeded land, I've read 3, but groups only require 2 peeps so wassup here? Do I really really need 3 admins?? some kind of fetish?

I don't know if I can pay all the tier myself - and in that case can the other 2 admins be:
One - a basic account and an alt
Second - a good friend whom I don't want to make him pay for anything.

I don't trust anybody else for this purpose and I don't expect people come in to pay the tier of a land I'm building alone so I would really, really enjoy any good advise from somebody who knows best about this subject.

So, resuming, because I don't feel like going on trial-and-error mode in this - TWO simple QUESTIONS:

1 - Is it possible to deed the land to my group and still be the only one "in charge" in it to make BIG decisions like sell it (i already know about the selling to myself first) but most important pay ALL the tier? If not, are there any OPTIONS for my particular case?

2 - Will the land only hold the prims for it's size or does the deeded land picks prim limits from the rest of the land that was not deeded to the group?

BIG HUG to anyone that can really advise me with this, thank you :) I just want to be confident doing this.

Be aware that any officer in the group is able to sell the land. The exception being only the purchaser of an Estate/Island sim can sell it.

The group must have enough tier donated to the group. That can be done in the group Land & L$ tab in the group info screen.

The group only needs one officer.

I would also suggest going to an education event about land :)

This is also a place for info.....

Thank you for you link and advice.
I've been on that page before, and found that Adam, Bob and Carol were all Premium, hence my doubts about having a free alt as another officer that doesn't contribute with anything.

But since it will only need one officer does that mean it can be me then.

Educational event sounds great, maybe i should do that, I just have little time to do a lot of things so I was wondering if I could skip that time-consuming thingy and go straight to my particular questions ^^;

ok, i just loose the land if the tier isn't payed right? so deeding and experimenting can't do any harm.

The only requirement for a group is at least one owner and at least two members. If you and an alt are in the group, then it won't dissapear and even if you did you don't really forfeit the land, you just have to do the support dance in order to get it back.

I'm not actually in world right now, but the two abilities you want to deny anyone but the owner of the group (you) are "Sell Land" and "Abandon Land".

Turning off "Receive group dividens and pay liabilities" isn't necessary for land management, but it'll save you a headache later on when you sell the land, or when you list it in places.

Kind in mind that allowing anyone to deed objects to the group automatically means that they can ban/unban/eject and change the music/video stream through a script as well.

Any group owner (the ones in bold) has full access to the group, and any land the group owns. Everyone else has as much access as you provide them through group roles.
Group members can each contribute tier to the group (you get a 10% bonus for group-owned land) or one person can contribute all of the tier for the land.

2 - Will the land only hold the prims for it's size or does the deeded land picks prim limits from the rest of the land that was not deeded to the group?
Prims work the same way normal land does. If you own 512m² in one corner of a sim, and another 512m² in the opposite corner of the sim, you get 234 prims on your land total. No difference with group-owned.
If one is group-owned and the other owned by you, it's 117 each.

I pe rsonally would get all the indfo possible, even if it takes longer. It's a big decision and way to many mistakes have been made in the past.

patience, Grasshopper :)

Thank you very much for the tips.
I'll research a little bit more, and since the group is invite only I guess trying it out wont hurt.

Peace.

You probably will not have problems because you are researching the issue and finding solutions befor jumping in.

You need only 2 people in a group to keep it from being deleted. One person can be a "member" with no privileges (your alt even), and your primary avatar can be the owner.

You can add others to your group IF you want to, and you control the access they have over the land. Officer roles default to allow them to buy/sell land, abandon land, receive a cut of group money, and be able to add/delete group objects. I always delete privileges for selling land or abandon land, but also be careful about giving others control over the objects you put on your land.

Your group land will have access to all prims for group land IN THE SAME SIM. The (same SIM) land must appear on the Land and L$ tab of the group to be considered "group land".

Feel free to IM me in game if you have more questions.

One last comment, hehehe

Read this post, just ignore the parts about "Dwell" since it is no longer active.
