Hi everyone--is there a way to search for a particular object to buy? I've used the search function with keywords thinking it would read something from a description at a place that sells such items, but no go. In particular, i'm looking for a telescope and windchimes. Thanx

Hi Ashe1 and welcome to the forums!
![]() I find the inworld search almost useless, but have had much success finding products on the web site SL Exchange: http://slexchange.com/ You can search or browse, and see lots of info and reviews. You can then either buy there on the site (once you've got an account there) or go inworld to buy the item there. They are very reputable and just a wonderfully useful site. ![]() |

Hi everyone--is there a way to search for a particular object to buy? I've used the search function with keywords thinking it would read something from a description at a place that sells such items, but no go. In particular, i'm looking for a telescope and windchimes. Thanx Searching is one of the weakest aspects of SL. Here is my approach for this particular request: First, search for each item separately. Don't put "telescopes windchimes" into the search box. That would only find results that have both. Second, search under both Places and Classified. Third, select "Shopping" for the drop down list before hitting the search button. This will eliminate many places that aren't relevant, producing a better set of results. Fourth, give up and search on slexechange.com, remembering to switch to mature content first. I've found many things you wouldn't expect, such as clothing, classified as mature, so I make that my default. For the types of things I usually look for, I'd go through all these steps in order. But for the specific items you want, I'd probably start with SL Exchange. That's just an intuitive feeling I have. |

A basic search at SLExchange (even without mature content turned on) gives this, along with several other pages. Must be a lot of SL stargazers out there...
