Can't log in...anyone else having a problem?

Fro the 3rd weekend in a row, the roving ban gremlin has decided to ban my lovely innocent computer; the past two weekends it began late Friday, this week the gremlin is early and started late Thurs. Phoned support and their recorded message says that SL is experiencing log in issues. Anyone else having this problem? Any suggestions as to what else I can do since I don't have the magic touch to dial in away that gets a human being at help.

I assume its my MAC address (is this right?) that is being read as my account is fine and in an email SL said that I'm fine that way. What actually is used to tell one computer apart from another? What identifies it and how can I find it? Maybe I'm doing something weird with my security systems? Could I be hacked and someone is using my computer to do bad things on SL. How can I tell?

Since other people have had this problem too, maybe its a gremlin after all. Any suggestions welcome since I can't get inworld to build or take a class. I might as well fiddle with my computer.

Maybe my family is doing an intervention...? Hey, I did teach the 3 yr old how to get the cereal off the fridge...
And the dog hair does seem to have drifted into 3m high drifts in the corner...
