Is there a log somewhere that would let me know if this is true or not?

i had a house on a private island, up in the sky on a rock platform. there's a store down below on the same land. the land is group owned and I, or any of the other manager level group members have the ability to return or delete any items on any of the parcels. this has always been useful for cleaning up random newbie items you see laying around.

wednesday (i think) i logged on and found a message that the island had been sold and that i needed to move out by the end of the month. well, that sucks, i thought. at any rate i guess i'd better get over there and start linking and naming objects for an easy move in a couple weeks. I TP'd to the island and found that the two fountains at the store were gone. i waited, but they didn't rez. so i flew up to my house. the rock platform was there but the house was gone, as well as everything in it, except, for a deeded-to-group television hanging in space.

i found some other managers on the island and asked what was going on and was told that all class 3 islands had had their prim count reduced from 15,000 to 10,000 and that everyone had lost prims. my stuff would show up in my lost and found.

so i looked under the online help and read that the order of return for items in a situation like this was 1. other people's items 2. group owned items, and 3. your items. well, that's odd, because the the house and all it's furnishings were mine, the group owned TV was still there, and there were 10-12 large trees around the store below that belonged to ther people and i had just left them there.

also, though my parcel supported 878 prims (and buddy, i was using them!), there were only 400 odd prims left that morning. i opened my lost and found to see if my stuff was there, and there are the two missing fountains but no house or furnishings. nothing in the objects folder.

i started looking around the island. the people who have worked out a deal to stay there had nothing or almost nothing missing. the island owner's house and property was intact, yet my place had been savaged to half my allowed prims not in a random way, but with a knife

the whole thing has started to smell funny, so, residents of SL, I ask you:

1. was there a system-wide reduction of prims on class 3 islands last week?
2. does the order of returns mentioned above apply when you rent group owned property? and if so, does this fit that order? do things like this happen this way often?
3. is it possible that my stuff will show up a week from now?

and most importantly:
4. is there a way i can find out if Item called Such and Such was Deleted by So and So and this date at this time?

thanks.

Find a place to rezz the two objects that were returned to your Lost and Found and check the contents.

When a large number of objects are returned at once, they are often aggregated into a single prim that takes the name of the last item rezzed. So one of those fountains may actually be a container prim with all your other items inside.

Good luck.

Regan,

Sadly, i did that, and it was just the two fountains eached of them linked and named, just as i'd left them.

i even went to a sand lot and rezzed every item in my trash. :(

Man, i'm hoping there's a log somewhere.

Also, when things become grouped into a single "container" item, they retain their original positions. So, if your fountains were at 45m and the house was at 100m. When you rez the fountains they will be on the ground, but the house will be at 100m over them, just as it was when it was returned.

1. I doubt it.
2. "You" = the landowner. If you were renting you'd be "other people."
