I've just discovered the client/server menus obtainable with ctrl+alt+d, and noticed one item that says "claim public land." Now, I've seen land that didn't seem to be owned by anyone. Is this public land? Can I just claim it and BAM it's mine? If so, is there an easy way to find it?  |

The Client menu has many options that work for us normal residents.
The Server menu has a number of options that only work for the Linden Staff.
Everything on the menus that seems unreasonable for ordinary residents to do, such as taking people's land or property, should be doable only by the Linden Research personnel.
I believe a few of the options may give you a false impression they are doing something but they really aren't.

well I have also read about people claiming land on the forums-- and sometimes the option is available, sometimes it isn't...
