Here is the situation. I have a new, soon to open club (make that club # 9 Million for SL..lol) and a neighbor also has a club.
Here is the problem. Every few minutes, their club/bot will do a "Shout" (Remove your prims, objects, respect our staff etc.) which clearly comes through at my club.
Obviously, I do not want automated shout-outs from a neighbors club disturbing my patrons or staff.
Is there anyway to block this or curb this interference from my neighbor??? I HAVE been to their place and talked to the girl who owns it....and mentioned how her club shouts are interferring with my operation and she just asked if I wanted her to dance for me (nope) and seemed to not care that she was disturbing her neighbors.
So...any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks in advance.

You will need to get them to do something about it , unfortunately
If they are agreeing they could move the shouting Item up heightwise until its 100M shout range only effects ground as far as their property lines. In the air of course people would still get spammed, but at least your club wouldnt be affected.
Basically the shout range effect is a circle so if you raise it less of the circle affects the ground level.
Alternatively:
You could just Let them keep shouting and move your club .. UP .. Way Up .. out of range.

Several suggested options: 1. Contact the owner of your neighbors parcel. In the most friendly, non-threatening manner you can muster - ask them if there's any way they could use Say instead of Shout, and use repeaters on their parcel to extend the message where Shout doesn't reach, because the shouts are causing an issue on your parcel. The new 'Region Say' function in LSL should make this very easy for them. 2. If #1 doesn't get you anywhere, find out who the owner is of this shouting object, and ban this person from your parcel. Banning an avatar from your parcel automatically mutes their chat from entering your parcel. If I'm not mistaken, this also works on the objects they own too. 3. Abuse Report the owner of the object and/or the parcel owner for spamming, wait & hope for results. Even better if you can ask the other visitors to file abuse reports as well. I'd only reccomend #3 as an option if #1 & #2 fail. Hope this helps!

Is she really the owner? I remember a girl who wanted to strip for different people (for L$s) at a Welcome Area once. When they refused, she ordered everybody out claiming it was her land. (We all IM'd each other with the instruction to vacate and assemble on the road alongside which was funny because it worked .. but oh, long story. ) yeah, I'd verify you were definitely speaking with the owner (right click the land, contact the owner listed there, or the person who created the group which owns the land) before taking any measures. You may already have done this of course, but worth saying just in case.

wow wasnt aware of this. Id just do that then. Ban him. Shouting would stop, if Travis is right.

From the 1.11.1 Release Notes: ( http://www.slhistory.org/index.php/Version_1.11.1) Bug Fixes: -Banned users cannot be heard from your parcel

She is the owner as I did some object queries to see who the owner was....building etc and it was her name on them As for the suggestions from Travis......all I can say is Thank-you!! I am kinda looking at the ban option but the shout is not from a person, but from a object and has the club name in it ie; Club **XXX** Shouts: so I am hoping that a ban of the owner, stops that as well... I don't want to cause waves, but, I have found that for my 5120, Say did the trick for me inside the club I have....which is all I need for people to hear (I have a area outside that is being setup as a quieter outdoor club/dance area adjoining the larger club..... So once again to those who have responded so far....thank-you!!

Well...I did a search for the Club in question and there was 2 people listed as contacts, so I did a ban of both people...and hopefully that will ban their object which was doing the shouts. I will let people know if or if not this strategy works. Hopefully it does as I plan to open this weekend....and sure would hate my guests hearing another clubs shout-outs
Once again Travis. Thank-you. I do appreciate it.

you can just click that box on the land tab that doesnt allow 'sound' from other parcels in and keeps sound from your parcel from leaving.....

Media Tab: This tab controls sound and video on your land. Restrict spatialized sound to this parcel: Checking this means that sounds from outside the parcel don't enter, and sounds from inside the parcel don't leave.
that wont work for shouting naybers?
bummer

That's right. A shout is not 'audio' in SL. It is text. Restrict spatialized sound restricts the sound of media (music and video assigned to land or wav files inside gestures and scripted objects). Ie. Actual sounds that you hear with your ears. Not chat or shouts, which we *see* with our eyes because they are text.

Trust me I had my sounds restricted to the spatiialized land selected and that was what kinda was perturbing....I do all I can to be a good neighbor....and then.....I am get these shouts. I also own some other land on another island but never encountered the shout problem there. So....yeah...thanks again everyone
