Logged into SL today and was greeted with the usual game update box. Clicked yes to update, during installation there were erros extracting the DLL and DB2 files as well as the main SL exe file. Uninstalled SL and downloaded the installer fresh from the website but the corrupt files remain, I am now unable to play SL, is there any resolution in sight?

The files that are failing:

pippki.dll
pipnss.dll
pipboot.dll
static_index.db2
static_data.db2
xul.dll
ssl3.dll
softokn3.dll
smime3.dll
plds4.dll
plc4.dll
nss3.dll
nspr4.dll
mscvr71.dll
msvcp71.dll
llkdu.dll
js3250.dll
gksvggdiplus.dll
fmod.dll
dbghelp.dll
secondlife.exe

I have normal windows setup, plenty of HD space etc. Have tried rebooting then downloading & installing, have tried with AV off etc. No luck.

Sometimes when there isn't enough disk space the installer can become corrupted (only half downloads).

try clearing your browsers cache and redownloading (I had no problem installing and running the new version).

I just downloaded and updated SL on both my WinXP box and Linux box. I uninstalled the previous SL first. No problems installing or running either of them.

Also, if you are using a "resume" enabled download manager, disable it, delete the corrupt installer from your drive, right click the link to the exe on the website, and "save as".

Servers are borked. Bad timing, because it's confusing everyone into thinking First Look is the culprit.

I've tried log in with both beta First Look and the previous conventional viewer, and failed in both attempts.

Well I got it to work after all, I just rebooted a couple times then the install finally worked, freakin weird.

Thanks for the replies guys, much appreciated.
