Just wondering if anyone else is having this problem.

I double click my sl icon to start-up and it sticks at "detecting hardware" I can't get past it and it doesn't show up when I ctrl-alt-delete....I have to go into processes to find it and shut it down.

I've let it sit for 20+ minutes and it's just stuck.

I tried re-installing SL - no luck.

I got in just fine last night, and have made no changes to my computer since then

Anyone else?
Any ideas?

Thanks
MT

Next time you get in, switch off "automatic hardware detection" in preferences.

You may want to consider updating your video card drivers.

You might try a system restore if it's windows.

here's an idea... skip hardware detection... add -noprobe to the end of the shortcut... then if it still won't load you have a problem =)

other useful commands can be found here
