Modifying

Hello everybody

I have a question perhaps somebody can help me with it.
I have modify rights to a few people but when I click on their objects
I can modify the whole object but not parts of it.
I've seen that other people can do this with my objects without problems.
Is this a setting? or is there something else that's wrong?

click the edit linked parts bo on the edit menu, and then hilglight the part you want to fix!

Thank you but I do know how to select individual parts in a linked group of objects. That's not the problem, the problem is I CAN'T select an individual part. When I select the object and choose "edit" the object gets highlighted like any of my own objects, but when I choose "edit linked object" then the selection dissapears and I have a "cross" close to my cursor and I can't select anything, no individual part.
Somebody please help.

Check that you don't have "select only my objects" on in the tools menu, and I dunno, check that your friends didn't tick the "locked" box in their object edit window.
