Tracking callers

I'm renting land on which I built a house so some of my options are limited but is there a way to track people who call at my house? I don't want a full security system and will probably open my house up soon anyway, certainly whilst I am there OTOH I'd like to know who has called in especially when I've left the door locked!

I invited a neighbour to look around as it's nearly finished, only to be told that he'd already been inside whilst the door was locked. he then deomonstrated which as a newbie I didn't know!

All I can find is full security systems, which I doubt would be allowed under leased land, but I'd like to know who has called if it's possible?

Do a search for "vistor counter" or detector. There are dozens of products out there that are customizable as to range and other options. Some will create a list and others just send an IM. I have one by Jeri Zuma this is very good.

Also, as you've discovered, locked doors will only stop those who are new or are polite enough to respect the concept of a locked door. It takes next to nothing to view inside using the camera or to enter by sitting and dragging a box inside.

I have a visitor counter in my house. Is that what you mean?

This device registers everyone who gets into its range. The range is adjustable. I have placed in the middle of house (almost invisible in the floor), so only people who enter my house will be registered. There are many options coming along with it.
What I really like is that it sends me an IM as soon some is registed... and as IM are send to my e-mail address when I am not online, I even know when I am not in game.

I bought this Visitor Counter at the shop of Dione Jacques and Jeri Zuma.

Morwen.

I'm assuming this person did the old trick of rezzing a cube, sitting on it and moving it through the wall of your house. Security systems are allowed on most leased land - a friend of my rl g/f has a club that is on rented land on an island, and his landlord allows the use of BanMaster systems.

You can get a free Vistor List Maker at my shop in Shona, see the coordinates in my signature. Look for a vendor box titled "Free Useful Stuff" on my vendor wall, buy it for $0. It does not send out emails however. Just makes a list you can check whenever you are at your house.

There's a little place in Troytown in the sim of Loon I believe that sells a visitor counter called Linus. It's silent to everyone but you, sends you IMs in game whenever someone comes in range, sends you an email if you're not in world, has an adjustable range, and even records the time everyone comes in range and leaves range so you can see if someone stepped inside and was gone within a minute, or stepped inside and stay an hour.

He sells both a single version for those who only want to keep track of visitors you one location, and a copy version for those who'd like to keep tract of visitors to a number of locations, like stores and stalls and such. And of course each counter can be given an individual location name so then you recieve in world IM's, you know who's visiting where.

If you'd like I can send you the landmark in world.
