Friend with basic account lost her password

A friend of mine in RL who I introduced to SL has forgotten her password. She tried the 'lost password' function but was apparantly bounced around a series of screens which eventually told her to phone up the help line. She then called up the help line and was offered a temporary password. Due to her confusion she declined the temporary password as she felt that she would be left without a password to access SL and the SL website. Does anyone know what she should do? She's been on the phone to me in a bit of panic and I've been trying help her. Obviously as a regular resident I'm not privvy to the facilities that LL employess have.

I would appreciate any helpful suggestions that I can pass on to her. Thanks.

if she declines temp passes to access the website to change it back to what she has she will never be able to get back in

she needs to call again and accept it, login and change to what she wants and all fine again (till she forgets again )

Has she retried the lost password steps? Or called the number they gave her again? She can also log into the Support Portal as a guest, but the 'Special Questions' ticket type doesn't really seem to have an option applicable to her situation and I don't know how long it takes them to respond to those anyway.

Alicia, that's more or less what I suspected and explained to her. She's able to log into SL even though she's forgetten her password as she set her viewer to remember her password. She was unaware of the problem until she attempted to log into the SL website in order to buy some L$ on the LindEx page.

Ann, she's been through all those steps and got stuck at the point where it gave her the phone number. She was on the phone for 40 minutes from the UK..... goodness knows how much that'll cost her!
