i think this a serious issue for the adult grid in secondlife ®
they can keep that *beep* inside the kids grid. half of the world ingame protest for it because its overreacting and will loose alot of players in nearby future , because the LL staff go ingame telling us what dress code we can have lets take a example

a kid showing his mum SL for the 1st time he OOPPS Accidently* note i said accidently written in profile hes over 18 and poofs he can get into adult grid and his parents goes nuts and bonkers over the toons they see their child playing is havine virtual sex .. dresses challening .. aka AR = Abuse Report.

i think linden lab should first have the age verification oon track before they can tell adult human beings how to dress weither or not.

else this Morality controle is good for 1 thing if retarded players throwing cocks all over the place thats logic for cage chickens that need to be under controle . but i dont think they shall tell us what PICTURES we may upload, think we can controle that our selves.

else keep this controle in Kids grid and let Adults grid be Adults grid.

Unfortantly Yes some pictures should not be Uploaded to SL. LL is reposible for the server space. They will get in Legal Troble in the state of california or Texas for haveing some types of pictures on there servers.

But that dose not excuse them saying how we can think, feel or act. People are always free to Mute, teleport or otherwise desided to not partisipate in what they feel is wrong.

Well if they are going to have an inworld police force I suggest they have no LInden powers but do have access to talk to all Lindens online or direct contact LL staff on duty via email perhaps.
They should asses the problem, attempt to fix the problem or negotiate the parties to a resonable result or if not possible or beyond their knowledge powers then summon a Linden to deal with things.

Yep! RL Child Pornography IS illegal in the USA. So is Online Gambling.

This is also a problem of being "global". What's legal/illegal here might be Illegal/Legal elsewhere. Because of this there really is NO possible way to cover everyones ass.

Well I have no intention of ID verifying via the proposed system. If LL don't believe whom I am then they should make a compulsory purchase of my land, refund the remainer of my membership and turn my account back to a basic one. They shouldn't allow me to buy any Lindens from them because when they do they are accepting that I'm over 18 as they are trading with me in an 18+ arena.

As for the Police force, heaven help us if it's anything like Livejournal's. This needs some serious clarification. Having people who are encouraged to go around seeking out what may or may not be violations of the TOS is not the environment I'd like to see.

Well as far as I'm aware, users have a responsibility too. If something is illegal in the UK and I view it, it's no defence for me to say that it's legal in Denmark. We're not yet really at the one worldwide market stage.

Personally I think that the intention of the blog was to say keep adult content out of the public PG areas and some extreme content (e.g. RL paedophilia pictures) have no place anywhere in SL.

But whoever wrote the blog worded it extremely badly, and probably needs to have their future blog entries proof read by others in advance, in that it

a) contradicts the community standards
b) contradicts previous statements about age verification
c) can be read to mean that all adult content (from sex to gun violence) is prohibited on the grid
d) encourages people to go on witch hunts against anything they don't like - be that BDSM, same gender sex, any sex or sexual act/content, violence, guns, combat sims etc.

I have a lot of sympathy for those who would like to clean up SL so that it became an art gallery of peoples' creativity - it sounds a wonderful ideal. However, I know of plenty of other virtual 3D worlds which came before SL and also some which are around now which are precisely galleries to people's creativity - no, I'm not going to mirror what some have said on the forums and suggest that those who want a clean sanitised 3D world should go there but I would like to point out that people didn't/aren't flocking to those worlds in anywhere near the numbers that people are flocking to SL (despite the fact many of those are far more stable and open in terms of technology).

Im a fine art painter in real life but i dont want to live in an art gallery. Not in real life and not in my Second Life. Gallerys are nice places to visit and view art but you cant lean on the statues and you cant eat grilled cheese then touch your greasy hands on anything. I think its a very poor ideal and highly boring. Would you build the waterfall just to put it on display and look at it or are you gonna actually immerse yourself, get in there and swim. After all isnt that whats fun about having a waterfall, actually using it? Well apparently not for some of you. And thats ok if thats what you like to do. My problem is that you cant say the same thing to me. I want you to say "Thats ok if thats what you like to do." I want you to say it because its the right thing to do.
