When your friend goes to sign in, before he/she enters their name, have them click on the "FORGOT YOUR PASSWORD?" link. All he/she will need is their email address. LL will send an email with a link to a page that will allow them to change their password. Good luck.

Same here!
I have a friend that has the same problem,, yet when they go to change there password, they get the link and everything is fine. the email arrives with the link to activate there new password... then when that link is clicked.. they get this... My Account We are unable to complete your request at this time. Please contact Second Life support for assistance at http://support.secondlife.com. If you are unable to change your password, please call (866) 476-9763. Now he only Speaks German and can't ring SL he just gets an auto response by trying to reply to the email but never gets anything after that.. i had the same thing and worked for me fine so i know how it should work... This person has land in sl with a business on it, he needs to be able to log into sl because of this,, and at the moment all he can do is sit there. Is there anyone that can actually help with this as he needs to get logged in! Thanks Sharon x |

Aside from the cost of a phone call (not sure if that 866 number is toll free. If not LL should get one for Support), there are Lindens who speak German and Italian. Wether one will be there or not is a question.
Due to the number of German Lindens (or those that speak German), I imagine the German friend would ahve 50% chance of having a person there that can understand and converse with. No clue on how many Lindens speak Italian. I say call and let LL deal with someone speaking at them. They cover the globe now, they should learn to have practices in place to deal with minor things like language. Maybe they could open a forum catagory for it. Call it "Linden Answers" or something where Residents could ask LL questions. Just a thought. ~Jessy _____________________
When your friend does somethign stupid:
Dude, you are a true and good friend, and I love you like the brother that my mom claims she never had, but you are in fact acting like a flaming douche on white toast with a side order of dickknob salsa..maybe you should reconsider this course of action and we go find something else to do. |
