Commission and fees for a business.. (What's standard?)

EDIT: Sorry, I should of said royalities instead of commission.

I'm in the process of starting my own business in SL, but I can't help to wonder how much to pay those that helped me with constructing the items that I will be selling. For example, how much would you pay the guy who did animations for the weapons I made?

How much would I pay the person who did the scripting? Or how much should the person who created a texture for my weapon get?

Originally I was thinking.. that there are 5 things to a object in SL. Prim built, scripts, sound, texture, and animations.

And if you were to break down the profit into those 5 areas, then that's 20% for each area. So then I would of payed the scripter 20% of the total profit, and 20% for the animator and so on and so forth.

But I'm wondering... what is standard? Is it better to pay the animator a large sum upfront first, then give them like 10% of the profit?

Any advice would be greatly appriciated.

Just a note, I don't make just weapons.

I am not so sure there is a standard so to speak. Its like any contract work SL or RL. Every contractor is going to have their own price. I would set this type of stuff into stone before having the work done. Taking bids on a project is great way to get the best price for your company. Let the contrators give you their bids then decide on who to use for your project.

There is really no standard, that I can see. Simply negotiate a fair deal that both parties are happy with.
