Limit sell order - how long?

Well I places a sell order that would give me about 180$ USD yesterday around 2am EST. Wondering the average time it takes to fill such an order. I used to have it setup that I would give it to my friend and he would write me a check (real life). But wanna see how it works out if I sell it.

Ohh excuse me, I sold 46.184L of lindens at a 248L / $1.00 rate.

that wont be selling anytime soon as last time I checked the going rates were around 265-267 L /1.00 USD it may not sell for months hehe I dont know I put them at 264 as a way to save it like a savings account but it usually doesn't sell and it can stay that way for a week until i have another 20k to add to it then I move it up to 265 or 266 depending on what I see. YOu have to look at what everyone else is doing.

Ohh crud, guess I will sell it at the default rate and lose 20$. Garrrrg!

hehe they used to have it go all the way down to 0 on buy and sell end they stopped , but placing it at 248 the lowest sell order there is 247 that wont be selling for a long time. Move it up to 265 or 264 it might sell in a week or so. If you want it to sell in 48 hours move it up to 266 it should sell fast unless someone dumps something like 20 mil in at 267 which can happen

err edited in actualy all the lindens at 267 are gone so if it were me I would sell at 265 or even 264

I ended up selling at the market one, got 170 so not a bad loss. Its going through paypal now, thanks!

Had you entered a sell limit order at L$266/1 today it would sell in less than 24 hours. A sell limit order at L$267/1 should sell in about an hour. You never have to sell at the market and can always sell via a limit order, just set the rate at L$1 over the highest rate and it will go at about L$1,000,000 per hour.
