How do I build a basic home?

Very new to this. Can anyone tell me how or direct me to a tutorial on how to build a basic home on my land? Is it reproducible on other land after I've built the home or do I have to start over each time?

I'm just looking to find out how to build a simple building, add some shutters that open/close, and put a door on that opens/closes. Is there any printed material on how to do this? I'd probably be interested in any tips on best ways to add some nice accessories as well.

Thanks.

The simplest home is a 10x10x10prim hollowed out and cut for a door with a 10x5x10 (or 5x10x10 - not in world so can't remember) prism for a roof and a 10x.50x10 floor.

And yes if you link these 3 pieces together or at least label them under the general tab for what they are and you take them back into your inventory, you can drag them out again else where should you move. You can texture your simple house in such away that all you need is those 3 prims. or you can get as detailed as your prim allowance permits and the scripts you create or find ( as far as open and closing things)

If you want to IM me in world after 7pm central standard time, I'll be glad to invite you to my land for a tutorial and practice.

Hope this helps.

Rockod, at Low Prim Solutions (in the same building as the Photography Studio so you can tp there from my forum signature) Enjah Mysterio has a kit that includes a book of detailed instructions and all the parts to build a little house. It costs 50L. You could live in it or just use it to get general building ideas. Another great place to learn is the Ivory Tower in Natoma. On the map type in Natoma - it's the big circular building you can see on the map.

Well yes that's the other options...I forgot about the Ivory Tower. I found it to be useful later in life, but what really helped me to learn was to be with someone as we created things together...some times reading isn't always comprehending in SL.

And 50L for lesson isn't half bad.
