What's with Red Fog/Smoke?

This darn red fog/smoke drifts up everytime I seem to touch an item. Any suggestions?

You have enabled "View Hidden Objects" Now everything that was Partially, or completely Transparent is now visible Via a Red glow. Just go into the "View" menu, and disable it, and you will be Fine.

CTRL ALT T is for hidden things. But the fog i am having is most times red and sometimes blue it drifts upwards in triangles.

It's also possible you have a graphics driver issue that is having problems with particles or something. I think there are some options in Client to disable certain effects, that might help, but you might also want to explore whether you may have a corrupted driver or an overheating card.

then shut them all off.
Give that a try. I found that the other day as I somehow enabled some and I would see red when building also.

If the problem is red clouds drifting up from items, and occasionally different colored clouds like green or purple, then it is caused by "Show Updates". Go to the Client menu and uncheck it. I don't remember if it is directly under the Client menu, or if it's under the Rendering submenu, but it's in there somewhere. There is also a key combination for this... I don't remember that, but I'm sure someone else here does. Accidentally hitting the key combination is how most people turn this on unknowlingly.  |

Elinah That's also Show Updates. Blue is a position/rotation update on an object, red is a full update on an object and green is a object getting deleted. ctrl-alt-shift-u will toggle it on & off. That or, as Ava said, turn it off via the Client menu. |
