I logged in to SL 2 days ago as usual and it offered me to download the most recent update. as i have 1000 times before i downloaded it without thinking and ever since I did I am 100% blocked out of SL. Whenever i click on the SL icon it starts to open but before it even gets to the login it says "display settings have been set to recommended levels based on your system configuration" and then suddenly the window closes and a the crash logger sends a crash report.
first i tried to restart my computer over and over...no luck
next i uninstalled SL and went to secondlife.com and redowloaded it....still getting EXACT same thing..
then i called the support number and waited on hold for 10 min and was directed to a voicemail of sorts. which told me to answer the questions and i would have my call retuned....still havnt heard anything (i have done this 3 times)
I have work that needs to be done in SL and have been unable to get in for 2 days now and im getting really upset because i also have no way of letting my clients or superiors know why i am M.I.A. all the sudden.
CAN ANYONE HELP ME?!?!?!

Have you tried going back to the older version of the client?

From: Blackheart Batz how do you go back to the other client? Uninstall the new one and reinstall the older one, if you saved the download that is.

From: Atashi Yue Uninstall the new one and reinstall the older one, if you saved the download that is. The Linden blog has a link to the older viewer.

This happened to me when I upgraded. Having read both here and on the blog about specifications, I then updated my ATI Radeon 9550 driver to a version dated 28th March! OpenGL release is now 2.01 I think. Rebooted and ran again. This time message came up and stayed there for me to click.... fixed

Was that the catalyst software just updated again? I just grabbed one dated Feb 2007 before upgrading to 1.14 From: bilbo99 Emu This happened to me when I upgraded. Mine did this until I allowed the latest Qucktime Update to go through.
