Resell/give away without copy?

I think people who buy my products should be able to resell or give them away. However, due to the nature of my products I prefer to make them not copyable.

I have been in sl some time now, but I can't seem to figure out how I can check the option resell/give away without also having the copy option checked. When I uncheck copy, then resell/give away is greyed out.

This question has popped up before I think, but I couldn't find the definite answer by search.

do you have an alt?
i believe if the item is no copy and the transfer option is greyed out it will be no copy/yes transfer. they greyed out option is still checked off, yes?

Any item by itself has to be either copy, or transfer. If you take away copy for next owner, then transfer is greyed out because you can not have a NC/NT item.

You can have a no-copy and no-transfer object, but that consists of two items, one of which is NC/T and the other C/NT.

Paulo,

You mention that when you uncheck 'copy', the 'transfer' option is grayed out; look closely though... is there a check mark in the box? There probably is. I noticed that if I uncheck
'copy' the 'transfer' box goes gray, BUT it IS checked. That means that other people can give your stuff as gifts, but can't copy them and resell them. Just a thought.

If you're selling objects with contents, eg. scripts et cetera, you also have to go into the contents and change permissions for everything inside the object. Permissions changes are not recursive.

In other words if you have an object that you set to no-copy and it contains a script that is set to no-transfer, when you pass that on to the next owner, they can neither copy or transfer it. In other words, the object is no-copy no-transfer. So before you set the object to no-copy, make sure the contents are all set to transfer/no-copy as well.

Ah I see. So if I understand you right (English is not my native language):

1. If I set one single prim WITHOUT contents to no-copy, then it automatically becomes transferrable although the checkbox resell/give away is greyed out.
2. If I set one single prim WITH contents to no-copy, then the greyed out checkbox indicates that it is transferrable, but it is actually not if the contents aren't set to the same permissions.
3. Same as 2 for linked prims with content.

To be sure:

If I sell a couch (I'm in the furniture business) it is made of several linked prims with my self made textures and some self made sit scripts and sit animations. All textures, scripts and animations are set to no modify, no copy (transfer greyed out). Is the entire object still transferrable for someone who buys it?
