Second Life tells me I can't access it from this computer

Can anyone tell me why this is happening to me its my own account my own computer and i have no fire wall up?
went away 5 days ago come back and it just keep saying (Second Life login failed can not be access it from this computer).
it asked me to update first which i have done, sent a note to l/l and dont known when thay r going to get back to me.
cant find anything on this issue at all???? hair coming out in very lrg chunks love lilly x x x xx

Was your computer able to be used by other people in your absence?

If do a forum search for "unable accessed computer" (no quotes) you should get a disturbingly large number of results.

In some cases this problem goes away on it's own in a while. Other folks have had to contact LL in order to fix it.

This happened to me off and on for 3 weeks and what seemed to finally fix it was getting in touch with the billing department. However do use all the avenues now open to you. Support has changed and I'm a bit behind the times but make sure you include billing in your notifications.

From what I understand, if there is a concern with fraud, the server can block a range of addresses and might have caught yours in the net. By letting billing know, they can free your address after checking it out.

being in the uk its hard to get hold of anyone over in l/l due to time/s and from what i can make out some like urslef seem to be on hold 4 ever there for costing me a arm and a leg.
s/l cost me the earth as it is however am feeling better that others have had the same problem.
am sure its started from the rolling restart has my acoount was fine on the thursday and on return on the monday this happens....
missing my mates on line so much (ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh).
i understand why thay have to do this but surly there is a better way, when u see that message come up it makes u feel like u have been accased of somthing u have not done..guess i have to sit tight and wait for the crap respone from l/l.

Looked under "unable accessed computer" and there was so many, and in responce to ur q, no hun only me who has accesse to the p.c no way could have anyone used my p.c or account looks like am the victim of being sweeped up with all the bad guys, which really makes my blood boil as i live a honst life and get banned 4 god knows how long now?
i just hope that thay see all my threads and e.mails and reports ect ect ect.

WELL THANK U ALL 4 UR HELP, IN THE END TOLD HUSBAND WHAT ALL U GUYS SIAD AND HE HAS COME UP WITH THIS AND HE AS SOLVED THIS PROBLEM:
GO INTO UR ROUTER SETTINGS AND REBOOT UR ROUTER I HAVE A NETGEAR ROUTER AND AOL INTERNET SO IF ANYONE AS THE SAME PROBLEM THIS MAY HELP THANK U ALL HAVE A GREAT S/L AND R/L UR HELP IS FAR ABOVE ANYING L/L COULD GIVE.

THIS PROBLEM HAD HAPPEN WHILE I WAS AWAY AND THERE FOR HAD TURNED OFF ELECTRIC SURPLIE. HOPE THIS HELPS ANYONE ELSE LIKE ME LOVE LILLYXXXXX

Great Lily but do be warned that it can happen to you again. It happened to me off and on for almost a month and every time I was able to get on it seemed to be a different solution: clear cache, rain dance, change IP address, etc. So keep your fingers crossed but be warned it may happen again. I would still contact the billing dept. I think they are still reachable by email. I included the MAC address of my computer as well.
