I'm downgrading to basic, but it hasnt taken effect yet (annual subscription, not up for a little over 2 weeks from now).
My credit card information is up to date.
I attempt to purchase land on a private island (both ways: set to sale to me, specifically, and set to a specific price for anyone--I had more than enough L$ to cover the purchase)
In both cases I get the following error message on the purchase page:
There has been an error while fetching land buying information. You have initiated the downgrade process. Your account will downgrade to Basic Access on Monday, August 27, 2007.
Basic or premium doesn't matter when purchasing private estate land.
Anyone else had this issue? Or do I get the pleasure of dealing with the phone support tomorrow? (GROAN)

I had the same problem with one of my land customers. The only way around for now was, to set up a new group with both of us as owner. He payed me the money directly, and I bought the land for the group. When his status is okay again we will transfer the land from the group to him.

This happened to me. I made phone contact with billing and they quickly stopped the downgrade so that I could complete the transaction. I also sent billing an email (remember when?) and recieved an answer to phone billing. Of course that was about 3 weeks after the issue was resolved.
Lesson learned? Don't downgrade until the very last moment before premie payment due.

If I were a basic member with never any payment info on file I could buy the land no problem... argh
Thanks guys, I feel better knowing I'm not alone in this. Pretty stupid.
I bug reported and sent a support ticket, so maybe (har har) it'll be resolved.
