While I am in the process of logging into "home" the viewer shows a stupid image....I had been modding some boots so the image the viewer shoes is my legs with the boots on. I am tired of this...laugh. How the heck do I get the viewer to show something different?

You can set it in the same spot, and the only thing that will change is the log-in screen image.

(geek alert)
buried in your application data folder, if you want to you can use any BMP format image you want to put there as your 'home' image. on a stock windows XP the path looks like this:
C:\Documents and Settings\(windows login)\Application Data\SecondLife\(SecondLife name)\screen_home.bmp
you can mark it read only so future home marker resets won't change it

This is slightly off topic, but for years I have played a little game. I have my log-in set to my last location, not my home, although that usually amounts to the same thing with me. Every time I logged off, I made sure the avatar was facing away from camera looking at a blank featureless wall. I must have had some subconscious idea of showing SL to someone, friends or family, and I wanted to orchestrate the experience. Eventually it paid off. Showing SL to my closest friend, I logged in and she saw only the rear end of a beagle at first. Then I turned around and slowly the complex virtual world came into view on the full 24" screen with very satisfying results. She at least doesn't think me wacko on the subject now. ,

LMAO Weston.... I change my home location all the time.....well....not literally....but I get tired of the image (like, oh I wore that outfit 3 weeks ago and I'm getting sick of looking at it!) so I usually position myself in a comfy chair or perhaps standing on the balcony, and then 'set home' so I have at least a pleasing image when I re-log. Sometimes, however, this backfires.....like when I had her sitting at the bistro table on the balcony of the 6th floor apartment I was renting....and of course, upon re-log, she was not sitting any more....so she/I got catapulted over the railing, plummeting to the sidewalk below. That was fun!
