I love it!!! His own product crashes while he is trying to use it for a very public speech!!

Welcome to the grid, Philip. How does it feel?
Maybe now LL will understand some of our complaints.

(I'm not being mean - I just think it's funny!)

You should have seen the mention of his crashing echo around the arena .. followed by a ripple of LOLs. 230+ people present.

It was like a mexican wave via text chat. :D

I suspect the Lindens that log into Second Life are all quite throughly used to and familiar with Second Life's many deviations from perfection and have thus learned to take it in stride.

Did he dress for the occasion, or was he wearing jeans and his rolling stones t-shirt?

He dressed for the occasion. Black suit, red rose in chest pocket, but his usual, untidy non-prim hair. ;)

..and sadly Brenda - no!

A tux and, inexplicably, a flute.

It was streaming audio, not FirstLook voice, so his in-world presence was mostly ornamental, though he made several pleasant chat remarks.

In the discussion itself, Philip made some fairly "free speech friendly" comments; not sure if the audio has been podcast or transcribed (yet?).
