I have submitted my credit card (three times) and, after a few minutes, it was accepted each time by the Second Life website. But my profile continues to show "No financial info on file." I can't purchase Lindens, join restricted groups, or visit restricted places. This is now the third day and repeated e-mails and a phone call to support have gone unanswered. I know Linden Labs is under a lot of pressure these days, so I'm trying to be patient. If anyone has any suggestions or information, I'd appreciate it. Is this a glitch others are going through these days? I gave my credit card a few weeks ago and used it successfully for a while. Why is it not working now? Thanks anyone who can help.

Check out the support page for various ways to contact LL so that you might get this resolved. Until then, maybe you can try opening an account at http://www.slexchange.com You can buy and sell Linden dollars there and buy user created products.

I've tried e-mail to both billing and technical support, several times. (No response yet.) I've searched the Knowledge Base and tried the toll-free support line. (No live person available -- I left a "ticket." ![]() Thanks for slexchange.com suggestion. That looks like it could solve my Linden dollar problem. But it still won't get me into restricted groups or places, will it? As long as my profile reads "No financial info on file" I am limited as to which groups I can join and which places I can go. Still hoping for more suggestions... |

I'm having similar type of problem. It seems the credit card info page is borked. I've tried to submit updated cc info four times now, using three diff browsers and keep getting a message that my payment has failed and please select another method of payment. My financial info is listed as update pending..it's been pending now for 2 days. No answer from emails to LL other than auto replies, and no response to phone attempts to reach them (except annoying phone music). |

Wow, Dellybean, I'm sorry to hear some are having worse problems than me. Actually, my cc didn't go through the first time and after waiting a few hours I tried again, and then it worked. Now if only my profile in the SL grid would reflect the correct status of my credit card!
Keep me posted if you learn anything. I hope they're working on it.... |

Really really really REALLY they should fix this.
I've been buying things online and signing up for things online for what, ten years now? And of course buying things and signing up for services irl for my whole adult life. Never, never, never ONCE have I found a place where they made it difficult to give them money. Much less made it impossible. Whether it is a web site, an online game, a real life store, a credit card company, a utility company, a book club - you name it; never once have I run into one that just won't take your money. If there is a problem with the bill or with their website, there is always, ALWAYS someone you can call who will have the problem solved and will be taking your money in a jiffy, lol. It has made me think of two explanations: 1. They really, really don't care if they lose a few people off the edges due to this. In their heart of hearts, they believe that their product is so cool that people SHOULD be begging them to pay for it. The more people do that, the cooler they feel. 2. They are rolling in dough. Like when kids are given so much money they just don't even pay attention to it, and it's on the floor, under their bed, and so on. You would think Zee Linden would do something about this. coco _____________________

Hiya
I was having the exact same problems. Kept trying to re-enter my credit card info. I waited a couple of days and now it seems to be working fine and I have been able to buy Lindens again. I did send a report off to Billing and I have just received an e-mail response from Dek Linden to say they have checked and everything seems to be ok with my account now. I have to say this has left me a bit paranoid, I have a premium account and have land, if my details dissapear again when I am next billed then I could lose my land and my weekyl stipend etc. So now I have to keep going back to my account details page just to check that I still have the relevent info ;P Anyone else still having problems with this? |

Well, Oh, you've given me some hope that if I sit tight for a couple days, things will go right. But you have a premium account and I still have only a basic account, so I'm probably not high priority to Linden Labs. I've been seriously thinking about going premium, but with problems like this I'm having second thoughts!
I notice the grid was down for repairs. I should see if my problem was magically solved. ![]() |
