You can't build there.

All a reservation gives you is the right to buy a private sim and put it on that spot and no one else can. Not only that but the reservation must be renewed every 3 months I believe. Unless you already have a nearby private island there is vbery little reason for buying a reservation.

Ok, what's the meaning of "sim", how much is that, and how to place sim on my reservation space after i get a sim. in addition, i carefully checked my reservation space from http://secure-web6.secondlife.com/apps/mapapps/management, where shows:

Location Renewal Date ? Controls
X,Y: (x, x) 07-04-07 Cancel Reservation Build Region Here

The virtual world of Second Life is divided into or comprised of square virtual areas called "sims" or "regions".

The term "sim" and the term "region" in SL jargon can be used interchangeably.

The names of some well known sims are "Ahern", "Morris", and "Sandbox Cordova".

When I go to the page at http://secure-web6.secondlife.com/apps/mapapps/management I see this map image:

In this map display, each square area enclosed by the black gridlines is called a sim or a region.

Based on the map legend at the top right of the image shown above I would expect that a person's reservations would be in some way marked with a hot pink or magenta colored square.

your suggestions are very nice and helpful to me. thanks a lot. btw, i only wanna get a 512m private space. but i wrongly made a bid on 512m square area(reservation space), is it possible to resell it or get a refund from sl, or any other solution?

Well, either you exercise your right and buy the reserved region in order to re-sell it (which may be profitable, but requires a pretty hefty down payment and is not something a new resident should undertake lightly) or ... and that's what I am recommending ... you cancel the reservation and file that payment under "educational cost". ;)
