I've had an issue with Griefing lately... anyone seen those massive particles that bounce and cover an entire sim?? (Usually with pictures of a grotesque nature, etc). As they are particles there's no way to right click them and find out who rezzed them. And the beacons for particle sources are next to impossible to see with a sea of bouncing pictures EVERYWHERE... so is there something I'm missing? any suggestions appreciated here.

I don't know, but there's a boy at the message board I go to who says he's been doing things like that and getting away with it because apparently he has ways of blocking information back to the Lindens. They've apparently labled him a Cyber Terrorist. There may be no way of controlling him but with any luck he'll get bored eventually and stop.

If you don't already have a "Client" menu (right of Help), turn it on, using Ctrl-Alt-D
Then, you can turn off the particles, using Ctrl-Alt-Shift-"=" (or Client \ Rendering \ Types \ Particles) This should make the beacons (View \ Beacons \ Particle Sources) easier to see.

Forget below - what ^^he^^ said You have absolute control over the number of particles your client will render in a given scene.. Edit/Preferences/Adv. Graphics/Max. Particle Count. Reduce that number to 20 or so, and the air should be thin enough for the source beacon to be effective..

I had a string of similar incidents. I was able to locate the emitter and get the owner's name. I AR'd the object's location (on my land) and the owner's name, and was eventually told the matter had been "resolved." Nothing ever showed up on the Police Blotter, and the first several "resolutions" did nothing to stop further griefing.
In the end I just had to not allow objects or scripts on my land.
I located the object by selecting objects by clicking-and-dragging various areas of my land until something showed up hightlighted. I then got real close and could select the object (difficult to do with all the bouncing images).

View -> Beacons -> Particle Sources can help sometimes as well. it puts crosshairs on all prims that are emitting particles.
